The Laptop Upgrade Nobody Thinks About Until It's Too Late

i get paid to think and that laptop's panel is manufacture defect.

I have a doubt mine is the same laptop with i7 14650 hx and a rtx 4060 and it is a 2024 model is this upgrade path still available to it but the screen is 1080p 144hz. Im looking to upgrade it
Any help would be appreciated (please also recommend the screen)

ASUS ROG Strix (2022) G15 G513RC-HN063W 15.6" 144Hz Full HD IPS LCD LED Laptop Screen (1920 x 1080, 40 Pin)..... screen number - N156HME-GAK (current). Can you tell me which upgrade i can get for this laptop display . I was thinking to get a BOE 1440p display(BOE NE156QHM-NY1) which is wqhd, quickly compared specs for both from panellook website. Only issue is that the newer one needs [eDP (4 Lanes) , eDP1.4 , HBR2 (5.4G/lane) , 40 pins Connector] whereas current has [eDP (4 Lanes) , eDP1.3 , 40 pins Connector] , the only thing stopping me from buying the upgrade is the display cable which i currently have. I really dont know whether it supports the newer signal interface.

Upgraded the screen on t480. Forgot to unplug battery blue a fuse on the mb! aye ya ya.. Screen turned out great after the mobo fix. Moral of the story dont forget to unplug the internal battery.

I upgraded a cheap dim display to a higher res and much brighter display that really changed my opinion of that laptop making it really good laptop.

That owner is the most unluckiest person ever to miss a free upgrade. Guess it's a "Bad Omen"

I've actually probably done 50-75 laptop screens in my days, but somehow I still enjoyed this video.

I will say, all of the ones I've done were the screws as he mentioned, and NGL I'm kinda sad to see it's adhesive strips now, but I'm sure that's for a good reason...

There was no reason for any one to replace a screen cause it lost two Pixels. The file is whole. And I have had people want a screen replace because a few bad pixels. Clean the screen and those pixels are actually there, and working. There was just some bug jizz on the screen they never cleaned. Our minimum charge for looking at something was $45. :)
Always a difficult place, when they ask what the Tech did to fix it. Which honestly, was 30 seconds of cleaning the screen.

I miss the non-adhesive days. When I repaired laptops there was zero adhesive...just a labyrinth of screws to manage...and there was always an extra one laying around that had no impact on the overall construction of the laptop.

What about "Acer Predator Helios Neo 16 (PHN16-72)"? it has 16.0" display with IPS technology, WQXGA 2560 x 1600, high-brightness 500 nits, 165 Hz....
and what about keyboard? I mean, this one is "i7-14700HX, RTX 4060" machine, Can I attach that "per key RGB" of i7-14900HX machine?

I did the same thing with my XPS 9370 I went from a 1080p non touchscreen to a 4K touchscreen. It's amazing but the battery life is slightly worse ( yes I replaced the battery a few months back)

Raccoontech covered himself: never outright promise the updgrade. Promise the original part, but if the upgrade is available, order it, because they "switcheroo" the part so so so often! Countless times I've had this exact scenario play out and I'm always glad I kept my mouth shut.

Lenovo commercial models are sold with 2 or 3 sometime more screen option for the same model. It can be possible to order an other on the net. It worth it if you can buy a dead cheap computer. Just keep in mind that a high-end model can be sold with a discrete GPU, so the connector can be different. For my part, I like to update Wi-Fi card. In the past, it was possible to update the CPU too.

Haven't watched the whole video yet, but is this a good laptop? Like the hinges and build quality? I found one with 13500 and 4060 second-hand in good condition for about 600. Any thoughts?

I had to replace a screen and bezel cat knocked it off to ground and good thing the bezel was broke bcause it just broke apart in my hand as I took it apart.
