It’s more for their training and for those elites and or government companies that can afford to hire the operators for their task. I remember this change the moment it happened. They released the new season trailer and blatantly said "we want to move away from the tactical shooter genre and move to the arena shooter genre." The Siege analysis isn’t wrong but pretending CoD and Destiny have good lore is actually crazy

Tom Clancy games used to mean something when the man himself was still alive and had some oversight over games bearing his name. To show how deeply he cared about authenticity, he almost nixed Sam Fisher’s iconic goggles because at the time, dual night vision and thermal goggles were impossible. He only relented when devs convinced him that swapping separate goggles would be too cumbersome for gameplay.

Every game had to be authentic and use either existing or near future experimental weapons and tech. And all the soldiers and spies looked and acted like professionals doing a job and being badasses.

Now it’s all complete bullshit.

Plot twist: Those rainbow 6 dudes are long dead they are just fighting in Valhalla in the afterlife.

I think the best plan would be to take inspiration from the original books by Tom Clancy, he cooked up a really good story.

Tbh the game never ever made sense that some of the r6 teams were legit terrorists and the other half were counter terrorist, but in the lore they were all good. They at least made it comprehensible as to why they were fighting against eachother, so you have to give it to them because you couldn't have made a better story

Unironically, I like these characters when not handled by Ubisoft. The collab with Arknights made me think Frost was a character for the first time, and not just another background Operator.

Yeah I gotta say as a former military man myself just seeing world class special forces units doing this whole “celebrity” thing is just so offbeat. Like here in Canada the motto for JTF2 in Latin means “Deeds not words.”
