As a resident of San Antonio, there are a few main places I can recommend:
1. San Antonio Botanical Garden - If you have a thing for connecting with nature, then this is the place for you. Even if not, there are a whole lot of pretty areas to see and behold.
2. San Antonio Zoo - Typical Zoo placeholder, but it is a wonderful place to go to see all sorts of animals, fish, birds, etc.
3. Shops at Rivercenter - Come for the shopping, stay for the sights. What more can I say.
4. Alamo - Historic sight
5. San Antonio Museum of Art - My art teacher once said: "You can tell how much art and culture means to a city by how big their museum for it is." By that logic, the museum may not Smithsonian levels, but it will feel like that at times.
6. La Villita - You are always going to find something interesting here.
7. Witte Museum - For all the science peeps, this one is for you. Not a big building, but a fun one.

I’ve lived in San Antonio all my life. The river walk restaurants aren’t great, I recommend the pearl district or Southtown for food with atmosphere. Also try coming during Fiesta as well. This year it’s the end of June. It’s 2 weeks of music, eating and drinking.

Great group of choices. Saw the disco was closed were they allowed me to pick up cans for recycle. Last time I was in the area. Grey hound bus ride changed routes to Temple instead of Belton.
