I found this segment at the Mars - Ara area. They spawn from a witch, or something and I scanned them and I received the incubator segment.

I would recommend doing horend, the Capture mission and using a Shade. While it doesn't take you 'on course', it let's you keep your scanner on you at all times to search and move around quickly. I was able to repeat the mission much faster and find about 1.5x as many Kavats. (You can also do Corrupted Mod runs simultaneously with almost no loss in efficiency)

I use harrow prime works well

Interesting.. got like 3 codes in 5 runs, scanned about 18 kavats.

So they only have a chance of dropping genetic code once scanned? I have been so confused.

Did survival there's usually two in the beginning scan them if you got a genetic code continue if not restart the mission

if you haven't already you can buy the sands of inaros quest from baro kiteer and that quest has alot of kavats to scan

is this bugged after the citrine DLC? I have spent the past hour checking every single tile of different map instances and haven't found a single kavat with my scanner

Hi Joe - I am a newer member to the Warframe community. I wanted to add a 3rd location to your guide to be the most efficient.

I have tried the other 2 methods and takes a large amount of time.

Deimos - Terrorem - will be the fastest way to farm the genetic codes - I was able to get all 10 in under an hour of farming.

It is a survival mission. But before you turn on the console to start the alarm. Kavat can be right in the room with you.

Depending on your RNG luck. 0 to 4 can spawn in the starting area.

The nice thing about this is.

1. No mobs to dodge or interrupt you.

2. If NO Kavats are there/ spawn - abort mission and repeat mission

**NOTE - DO NOT ABORT MISSION IF YOU GET GENETIC CODE - you will not be credited with the reward. Do the 5 minutes and end match.

Con’s of this method - if you are an elitist and highly care of your stats. This will reflect in your “Failed and Quit missions. Affecting your overall accounts “quit rate percentage”

If you do care about this - resort to farming Horend for dragon vaults and Kavats but, understand the time to farm this is huge time sink.

Me and a friend just finished up Spear Defense on Mars and it dropped the segment. Not gonna lie was kind of mad after spending so long researching and crafting from clan dojo and she got the random drop
