This isn't correct. Jet engines move forward because they expel exhaust. The mass of the spent fuel times its velocity as it exists the engine corresponds to the mass of the aircraft times the increase in velocity in the opposite direction (much like the kick of a gun). Jets cannot fly without spewing exhaust.
