so which one is which? I didn't understood the abc-xyz thing ... but in my opinion guitar #1 sounds better to me

they both sounded lovely though I think that is largely your playing. The first one had a wider range of color in the sound. The second had a darker tone, just a hint muddier on the neck pickup and more brittle on the bridge.

How do they feel compared with one another? I realize that's not an entirely fair test because you had one for years and the other for a week so one undoubtedly feels more natural but it's an interesting question.

Great that you published this test. Even though it was taken with camera mic I did notice what I wanted.. The CV has a bit more bass in it, right? (A bit more output maybe..) I have a CV 50s with stock pickups which probably sounds closer to AI's.

this was much harder than I thought it would be. Guitar #1 definately had a richer less noisy tone but they both actually sounded good.

Guitar #1 has a richer tone but too bassy and sounded a bit muffled for me, especially the bridge pickup. Guitar #2 is brighter, reaching toward telecaster territory and I do prefer #2. One in the teeth for made in the USA :) Better for my wallet.

How to hell can you do this kind of shootout with different pickups and camera mic that's clipping?

There's a link to a video in the description that tells which is which. I got it right, but the biggest difference I heard was in setup. One guitar had better intonation and a bit less fret noise. I had expected a bigger difference in the pickups.

I have both a Fender Am Dlx that cost be £999 back in 2004 and a Squier Vintage Modified Surf that cost me £199 recently. I also have a Yamaha Pacifica 112 that cost me £150 but I loaded that with Suhr pickups. I've been playing for 15 years. If the Am Dlx didn't have the bonuses like noiseless pickups, S1 switching, locking tuners, even the pearl inlays, I woulnd't have bothered with a US strat because the other US strats are very comparably to much cheaper Squiers (unless you buy a US custom shop Fender that costs a lot of money). Also, I'd rather shell out on a really good amp. You can make a rubbish guitar sound amazing with a good amp but a rubbish amp will make any guitar sound crap - no matter how expensive it is. People should get off this idea that guitar price and skill are somehow linked. They're absolutely not. Get a cheap but decent guitar, get good on it, and people will think you're a magician. But get an expensive guitar while you're not even that good and you will get laughed at because you will be under the microscope more. People will say "he/she's got a £1,000 guitar - let's see what he/she can do on that thing".

N. 1 Squire, N,. 2 Fender. The sound is little different, I think, also because of the neck.

What was the first riff you played? Very tasty.

1st is Fender. Tone texture is sharper, and crispier. Sounds bright and clear. Exactly what a Fender Strat should sound.

2nd is Squier. It's a bit muddier and the tone texture is a bit rounded on the edge I would say. Doesn't bite as much as the Fender. Still good and has a characteristic of its own.

I think the 2nd guitar is the squire there was quite a bit of humming from the last demo but the two sounds almost identical.

I think N.1 is Squier and N.2 is Fender cause the 2nd sounds fuller and clearer

1 Fender, 2 Squire......but why should i pay over 1000 Bugs more for the fender? Buy some Fender CS PU and electronics and you have that sound and a lot of your money in your pocket;-).

I hear almost no difference, if any. The more expensive squier's, like the deluxe, vintage modified and classic vibe are steals for the price, just got a vintage modified 70's and I'm very happy with it

Im half way through watching and listening closely.... i think #2 is the squire, seems a little distant sounding and flatter dynamics. guitar #1 seems to accentuate pick attack a little more. lets see if I guessed right...

The first one was the Fender, the notes were all with the same volume, more steady. The second was the Squier with much warmer sound.
For the price difference, Squier all day.

The one thing I really find makes a difference is the wider neck up at the nut with the fender. But I dig my squier as well.

#1 sounds maple..
#2 warmer tone, slightly more noisy pickups

Not much between them to be honest ..guitar 2 sounded a bit thinner at the bridge pick up .but bridge middle , sweet .. Owning a 50s CV I would pick #2 is the CV ? A very slight edge in warmth #1

1번 팬더. 2번 스콰이어. 팬더는 스콰이어에비해 오버드라이브상화에서도 멜로디에 훅이있어. 중상부 멜로디도 팬더가 더 힘이있지. 나머지는 비슷해. 하지만. 강하게 비벼지는순간 알게되지. 멜로디를 유지한채로 힘을 얻는지. 아닌지. 그게 팬더지. 하지만.. 가격을 기반으로 생각하면. 너무 작은 차이아닌가? 픽업 한두개로 소리는 뒤집어질수있어. 나머진 촉감정도일까?

And my opinion is. Nobody knows for sure. Therefore. Buy the one you can afford. You can always upgrade but dont usually need to do much
