NOT Male Dominated Field.

we r not giving away jobs to male. if u were not here to get free passes and a overused stree h 0 3 with entitleet issue, u'd understand all jobs are fair iif u have the quality. but WOMEN like u only want benefit and freedom without accountability and responsibility.

i am tired of seeing victim playing women

Technology is a male dominated field. Its nice to see a woman share her story.

Something related is the question if present installations in factories are not unnecessary masculine so very complex, full of tubes an everything " big "in order to intimidate laypeople. The right scale is important and small could mean expensive but I still wonder if engineers can even think out of their long time box of cheap fossil fuel and steel.
To save energy, everything should be compact, elegant and maintenance free and so almost more feminine. The end of all energy is low temperature waste energy, we should avoid it as much as possible or do useful things with it. I really doubt present engineers are able to leave behind their traditions. To give an example: compare the elegant "liquid CO2 energy storage" concept with that of "liquid air energy storage" which has at the core a good idea but it's like the insight is missed to make it efficient enough.

I am from Peru and studied Architecture in college remember in my first year, a professor told me: "Why don´t you study social sciences? or communications? You don´t have a chance here" This was after receiving a low grade because I didn´t understand the assignment and I delivered the project with many errors. I would say I defended my presentation with all my strength and with good communication skills. But my teacher's comment did nothing but humiliate me and I remembered it until my senior year. Well... as soon as I graduated I pivoted to a career in software engineering as a self-taught student. And I ended up working as an engineer lol. My advice to all women in tech is to let these comments make you stronger, listen only to constructive criticism and your own voice.

I'm not sure why men don't think women have the intellectual capacity to work in stem fields. I had no issue majoring in science and graduating at the top of my class as an honors student. I then went on to become a full-time laboratory technician in the stem field of genetics and ancestry. And I'm pretty sure I wouldn't be here getting paid a comfortable living salary for the work I do if I truly sucked at it. Lol

Every job is challenging. No one will be easy going to everyone. Men also will have issues at all work. But stop complaining. I think women are not capable of not stopping to complain.

These are political talks. Software companies try their best to give equal opportunities despite of genders. But women are basically not good at coding.

"You are too slow....Maybe you should clear your desk"
Not sure what the person would tell his daughter if she wanted to get into....???....being a primary school teacher? being a receptionist? cashier at the grocery store?
Because that's what his own daughter would ONLY be good for???

Men are far more discriminated against than women these days in engineering

Men constantly have to cover for women, and women are typically assigned much simpler tasks but given much of the praise.

Women are sometimes more collaborative than men in engineering, but they usually seek to exclude men when collaborating so they can give other women praise.

Engineering was difficult enough as it was and now for inexperienced men entering the field who have their heart set on becoming engineers have this "bow down to women or be cancelled or considered difficult"

I quit my first engineering job in August due to toxic environment and a bad manager who doesn’t know how to manage a team and lacks interpersonal skills. Last thing he told me was: engineering is not for everyone. I wanted to tell him: one day I will beat him in any areas of my life and his photography sucks.

The field is not dominated because men want it that way. It's completely opposite.
Women are less represented in CS because fewer of them choose to study CS. Fewer of them choose such degree after high-school.
It's so simple. Everyone gets hired and paid based on how good they are. They are just less woman in this field by their choice.

As a developer, the women I worked with were always competent at their jobs. They were never the top nor the bottom coders. They were always in the middle, which isn’t a bad thing. The men were either the best or the worst of the programmers. Unfortunately, I was one of the bottom ones. The only thing I might add is that only the men were willing to stay late to finish an assignment. None of the women coders were willing to do this.

I am in computer science, i didn't have anyone telling me I couldn't do it. I was an A student, I felt very encouraged by males to continue because they would come to me for help with their work. It was very encouraging but it also made me realize that I like teaching and helping rather than the work itself... One thing I regret being a woman is the lack of confidence and that certain experiences gets to you more emotionally. After graduation, my lack of confidence made me choose a less technical career, and even within the company, I did not ask to switch careers. To me, it was not society, it was myself who stopped me. Women needs to be encouraged and asked specifically what they want and encourage them get there. They might not ask for themselves.

Let me tell you a story. I was a veterinarian. veterinarian medicine is a WOMAN dominated STEM field, as many STEM fields, are (biology, agriculture, chemistry, and veterinarian medicine btw are a few). I frequently was not put in charge of minor and major surgeries EVEN THOUGH I WAS JUST AS IF NOT MORE, QUALIFIED. so please make a followup video about men in women-dominated fields, because there is struggle that not enough people talk about.

I don't wan't to doubt their sincerity, but I just find it hard to believe that this stuff happened on a modern college campus. If anything my experience as a CS major was the complete opposite. Time was taken out of lectures to reinforce how important female inclusiveness is and internship offers/emails specifically asked that the girls all apply because they wanted to increase the female staff
