For me , its down to price. I have had iPhones in the past and the latest flagship Samsungs . These days, i will buy a new 12-18 month old (just superseded) android flagship for around 1/2 the price of the latest model.
For me , a phone is a tool , not a fashion accessory. To be honest , most midrange Androids will do everything i need them to do . While i can afford a flagship phone , i would rather spend the money i save on craft beer and travel.

Imagine if Samsung made a camera nowadays 😮.

Was the world not ready for them? Or was the product missing key features. 55 mile range when you can only reliably charge at home, is a novelty car. All of these products had key failures or missing critical features.

As far as I remember there was a Asus phone which could be docked in a dedicated laptop shell too.

Heh, I ended up buying one of those Atrix "Laptop" things when it was on it's way out. They turned out to be great little Laptops for a Raspberry Pi as well. Since the built in battery on that device can power the RPi.

I had Motorola Atrix. The experience was ok.

I still have my OG Google Glasses with custom glass lenses on them. However, the battery seems to have died and I am not sure how to get a new battery in it 😕

I would pay a pretty penny for a shell where I put my iPhone in place of the trackpad, and it gives it big ass batteries, screen and full size keyboard. I don’t need more power.

For the last one, you could have a keyboard screen and battery compatible with any phone via usb-c, for display, power and data, you just need the software support on the phone's end. This fixes the locked to one phone issue.

but Apple thinks people will be buying Apple Vision Pro for 3500 bucks where you have to take battery behind you and have entire VR headset on it... sure...

Idk I really REALLY don't want AR devices to become the norm tbh. I like being able to disconnect from my phone and computer at least momentarily.

Its not just that Tesla was ahead of its time. EVs before were horrible looking and nobody wanted to drive around in a weird looking EV box. What Tesla did was take an EV and made it look fly. They made it looks sexy, and attractive. These tech products that have failed is because they dont get that its more about that fashion than it is the tech itself. The tech doesnt even matter if it doesnt even look good. Google Glass was never going to make it with expecting people to walk around looking like robocop
