"we were expecting you to be towing a couple hundred pounds of moon rocks."
yeah, rub it in, mattingly
Now I understand why older VCRs had a "DEW" lamp.
ОтветитьThe phone in your pocket has more power than the computers they used to pull this off. Think about that for a minute
ОтветитьIt’s like driving a toaster through a car wash. 😎
Ответитьwouldn't it have been an additional potential to disconnect the four neon tubes for the cabin illumination? each of the lamps consumes at least 10W, based on a voltage level of 14V it would have saved them another 3 amps.
ОтветитьWhat amazing cast!
Btw... Apollo 13 & JKF are the 2 movies key to winning 6 Degrees of Kevin Bacon.
And if things are floating around the capsule wouldn't make any difference to the weight until gravity started to pull it what if they went well overweight
ОтветитьIf everything is weightless in space how did they know they are weightless for reentry
Ответить50+ years later It's still amazing they powered up that ship despite being blown up and limited resources, absolutely incredible they were so lucky that nothing else in that ship got screwed up during power up.
ОтветитьOh, you cut before a great moment.
Fred: "Way to go Jack". Jack nods.
That son… having to watch possible disaster with his classmates only… hardcore!
ОтветитьIt is surreal that they didn’t short out!
ОтветитьHow awkward would it have been if the last one didn’t work?
-Oh well, we tried boys. That’s it I guess. 🤝
That’s because it is preposterous. Wake up.
ОтветитьYou could see Jack's conference was shaken from the explosion when he goes to fire up the Command Module
Ответить“I wish you were here to see it”
“Yeah, I bet you do” 😆
I think after that power-up procedure was done, the amperage total, I am guessing, would be - 3.884 amps. Maybe 3.940 amps, close to the 4-amp limit, but they got it DONE.....after having that CSM powered down and frozen when the exploding oxygen tank on the cryo-stir meant Apollo 13 could not land on the moon!
ОтветитьLeautaneud dan help dr Sebastián bill harding and woody
ОтветитьWhat's your name again
ОтветитьKent
Ответить"Rocks" kills me everytime
ОтветитьIn this scene who is the other Cap-Comm sitting beside Mattingly??
ОтветитьThey filmed this scene and others in "zero gravity." Not actual zero gravity, but in a plane that simulates zero gravity.
ОтветитьThey must have designed the spacecraft to come in just right with a couple hundred pounds of moon rocks
Ответить"I bet you do." Totally.
ОтветитьRocks.
Ответить"Ill bet you do" - a great line because that Kevin Bacon's character had to sub in for Gary Sinise's
ОтветитьIf during assembly if the internal wiring or components were not PERFECTLY sealed it would have shorted and they would have died. The number of variables is astonishing.
ОтветитьYou got her back up Ken, boy I wish you were here to see it. I’ll bet you do!
Ответить“Driving a toaster through a car wash” is probably the best comparison for something like that.
Ответитьive seen 12 volts shorted melt a steel cable .these guys had no idea what was going to happen when they flicked those switches.
ОтветитьLt Dan!
ОтветитьGreat upload. Thanks, Aegis.
ОтветитьIt’s Kevin and Gary…
ОтветитьI love this scene. I love this movie. It’s amazing. Thank you again for uploading it!
