wouldn't it have been an additional potential to disconnect the four neon tubes for the cabin illumination? each of the lamps consumes at least 10W, based on a voltage level of 14V it would have saved them another 3 amps.

And if things are floating around the capsule wouldn't make any difference to the weight until gravity started to pull it what if they went well overweight

If everything is weightless in space how did they know they are weightless for reentry

50+ years later It's still amazing they powered up that ship despite being blown up and limited resources, absolutely incredible they were so lucky that nothing else in that ship got screwed up during power up.

I think after that power-up procedure was done, the amperage total, I am guessing, would be - 3.884 amps. Maybe 3.940 amps, close to the 4-amp limit, but they got it DONE.....after having that CSM powered down and frozen when the exploding oxygen tank on the cryo-stir meant Apollo 13 could not land on the moon!

They filmed this scene and others in "zero gravity." Not actual zero gravity, but in a plane that simulates zero gravity.

They must have designed the spacecraft to come in just right with a couple hundred pounds of moon rocks

If during assembly if the internal wiring or components were not PERFECTLY sealed it would have shorted and they would have died. The number of variables is astonishing.

ive seen 12 volts shorted melt a steel cable .these guys had no idea what was going to happen when they flicked those switches.
