Fuck youtoube autoplay...
This has nothing to do with cyberpunk
ngl I dont get the billy harrington reference
ОтветитьI've always wanted to make a game like this. The difference being you're a new doctor assigned to a rural city and youre the only doctor. Day in and day out you see patients, diagnose and treat them. Theres a whole city out there but you can play the whole game without ever exploring it except to get groceries and maybe hit the bar or do karaoke on your day off. On the third day you notice a plague is spreading. You write a letter warning the governor of a plague he tells you to record the patients names so they can be sent to the specialists in the city. You spend the rest of the days treating patients, they complain about things but your days barely change, doctors are paid well after all except maybe more sick people at karaoke on the weekend. After a few months of this, your doctor lived comfortably but the patients you report never come back and eventually you dies of the plague. The end.
Then hopefully a few players would be like, 'wait... was that it?!?!' Then play but this time doesn't do what the game tells them. They explore the city, locate the plague causes and gets wrapped up in the politics all the while the game is constantly warning them to get back to their office, people are dying without their treatment after all! He's stops getting paid, loses his house etc but suffers to find the harsh truth of this world.
The Massachusetts reference is all to true.
ОтветитьAMAZING VIDEO!!!! Amazing how i keep learning new things from videos that tell the story over and over, this never happened.
ОтветитьIf the remade it and fixed some of those problems I think this could be a really good game. It has great bones, and organs.
Ответитьis that chamber of secrets background music i hear
ОтветитьThis is probably the only time learning the story of a game genuinely damaged whether I'd play it. Fuck it, might play it still.
Ответитьone thing that isnt very important but I think is cool is, if you play the campaigns in order, you start of as a foreigner and slowly learn the town as the bachelor, but as the haruspex you and your character are already quite familiar with it, and as the changeling you and your character already know pretty much everything. its cool, good game, Im glad I've never played it.
ОтветитьLoved this review of this weird "game"... And though I understand what You (mandalore) mean when saying that "it's made by artists that turned into game developers". I personally think that all game developers in a sense are artists, and that (almost) all games more or less are very special a form of collaborative art.
Best regards.
Tbf the combat looks much better than for example Vampire The Masquerade combat.
ОтветитьI used to wander around town rummaging through garbage. But that was before the plague hit.
ОтветитьIm having flashbacks to a randy feltface comedy special rn
ОтветитьWouldnt this be technically the first strand type game? After mario?
ОтветитьThis is my comfort video, i remember my first time watching it. Thanks
Ответитьnice video!
ОтветитьApparentally a Haruspex historically was a type of person who inspected the organs and entrails of sacrificed animals, so.. wow.
ОтветитьI love the implication that Mandalore's idea of a utopia doesn't have any children in it
ОтветитьYou made a mistake by saving all the bound before the playing the changeling BUT its the only freedom the game allows you, to ruin your own experience.
ОтветитьHonestly, outside of the cool music and people frowning on you for killing the sick, this is how I picture eastern europe/Russia to be like.
ОтветитьDon't trust a lady that say she sees invisible cat. She's lying
ОтветитьI will never ever play this game cos it's just hard but man, it's just so fascinating.
ОтветитьAs a gun nerd, I find it interesting this presumably Ukrainian or Russian (?) town that may or may not exist in this dimensional reality, is filled with Webley-Fosbery revolvers. They're an extremely rare British semi-automatic revolver. Yes, you read that correctly: The cylinder, upper frame and barrel assembly recoil upon firing, automatically recocking the hammer and cycling the cylinder. It's not just a matter of them randomly happening to pick the Webley-Fosbery as a generic pistol model either, because it's unique semiauto operation is actually animated correctly.
ОтветитьSo, no metro?
ОтветитьI always get my ammunition from school children ... what's strange about that?
ОтветитьI don't get the cromwell joke. can anyone explain the gist of it?
ОтветитьHoly crap, that Haze reference...
ОтветитьSo another interesting bit of word play is with the name Haruspex. It's from ancient Rome and is the term for someone who divines the future by reading the entrails of animals.
The Haruspex needs to harvest organs to give himself a better chance at surviving so he can figure out the mystery of the town, he's using entrails to reveal secrets. But he's also closer to the town, he's an insider, he's someone who knows the area and the people on a much deeper level. The citizens are sort of the "organs" of the town and he's also reading them and not only that but the Haruspex is much closer to the local religion of the town because he's a native. And you mentioned the Haruspex is more able to make sense of the of the plays which can help predict the future of events in the game.
Ah sometimes it’s so good to not be from an english speaking country and have e.y.e. properly translated from french
ОтветитьI love it when a non-designer with no knowledge of game design suddenly does game design, and the result is a game that has no clue what it's trying to be or what it has to offer the player, beyond a big old sackload of random stuff one person or another thought was kind of cool at one point. Incoherent, constantly cancelling or contradicting itself, maybe throw in a little unreliable narrator trope just in case someone was thinking of caring the slightest bit about anything in our game? Boom, congrats, you have a work of creative gibberish with zero emotional weight. Golf clap!
ОтветитьIt’s funny how I really want to play this game now
Ответить>It's like Genghis Kahn made the Half Life 2 soundtrack
Damn that's spot on.
I loved this terrible, wonderful, awful game 👍 for me, it was worth the shitty mechanics to get into the story. After a whole, i actually liked feeling stressed out by the slow walking while I try not to die 🤣😭
