... Me, again, (duper deja vu)
Just had to set the 'ol time machine, to 7 years back, so I could watch the cutting technique video,,, so glad I did,, I'd forgotten about the wd40 tip,,, keep' em coming,,, lol,,,,,,
a duper steel hahahha
ОтветитьSniff. It's still not Valyrin steel.
ОтветитьI do enjoy the 'to the max' tests! and the added bonus was the explanation between the rockwell/celsius/farenheit degrees scale.
I do miss the loud intro! You need to work on that!
Great stuff. If the grind is shit, not enough effort put into the cut and the correct angle of cut then all the cpm and m whatever ain't worth a shit.
ОтветитьIt's so funny I can't stop laughing. U made my day man! kuro 1
Ответитьgreat video!!! :}
ОтветитьWait, when did you start doing ads for Cold Steel?
ОтветитьThe one dislike is from the guy who got the "lesser steel" version! Great to have you back sir!!
ОтветитьHRC @ 72.3141592654 Celsius degrees Fahrenheit? I don't know man, still seems too soft...
Ответитьlawl
ОтветитьThis is getting me pumped up baby 😂
ОтветитьLOL. So, I’m left wondering where exactly we are relative to a Hanzo Hatori Sword from Kill Bill? With science of course.
ОтветитьI dunno, if it was that good it would cut through the log, then start cutting its way to the center of the earth and once it reached the core of hot, liquid magma it would temper to the extreme and cut a hole in space time itself.
Sorry Cliff, looks like the maker didn't go far enough into the future. He should have came back with 9th generation steel.
NO DEAL UNLESS IT'S DUPERSTEEL.
ОтветитьI somehow lost my subscriptions & started adding them from memory when lo & behold some new posts! I review the old ones from time to time & have learned so much from the knowledge you share Cliff. I've just clicked the bell notification so as not to miss anything you care to post. Best wishes for you & yours.
ОтветитьLol isn't this the guy from yesteryear going around telling people with more knowledge than him how it's done? 😂
ОтветитьLmao brilliant mate, cryo 6 times got me 😂😂😂🇬🇧
ОтветитьScrew technique when you have a duper steel
ОтветитьGood to see you making videos again. Always loved your forum posts and videos. Cliff can you recommend me a stone for bringing my woodworking tools into shape and one for finishing them? Greatly appreciated.
Ответитьjust like an infomercial
ОтветитьPeople cut without Duper steels back then. Disgusting.
ОтветитьMaximum effort!
ОтветитьLMAO!
ОтветитьLOL but seriously the amount of voodoo BS going on in the knife making work and lack of science can make one cringe for a 10 to the power of 23 years!
ОтветитьI always plate quench in oil under water.
ОтветитьI’ve never agreed with the term “super steels”. I can respect them, and they have their place with modern heat treatment, but honestly, most people have never used properly heat treated 1095/W1 @ 65+ hrc. It behaves like a “super steel”.
ОтветитьLOL
ОтветитьWhy were you banned from BladeForums? Seems like politics to me, would love to know the whole story.
ОтветитьRIP Cliff
ОтветитьR.I.P Cliff, you'll be missed. You were one of the first people I remember watching when i realized there was a knife community. May you live on in your videos and posts and in the knowledge you passed along. Thank you.
ОтветитьGod Speed! We will pray for you family!
ОтветитьRIP, too good for this world
ОтветитьYeeesss me sun.. You'll be some missed..
ОтветитьOnly the good die young. Rip cliff.
ОтветитьLord have mercy on a real one
ОтветитьYou'll be missed, may you rest in peace.
ОтветитьI'll miss Cliff you touched me on knives and sharpening buddy RIP.
ОтветитьRIP Big Cliff.
You opened my mind to a whole other side of knife use and information. Even though I only seriously began following your work for about a year, in that time I learned so many new things that will always help me with my blades.
Thank you, and I’m saddened to hear this has happened :(
Man I had a feeling. I just found him. I hope people will be discovering him for years to come. Bless his soul.
ОтветитьI was gifted a woodsman's pal years ago by my sister and being the type who refuses to throw anything away I've been a bit desperate to find a way to make this thing actually cut. It's a shame to hear that Cliff passed, what I've read from him has been very enlightening. Does anybody recall what angles and style of edge he finally ended up with? It definitely appears to be thinned back quite a bit. I can't recall where I have mine at right now for angles, but I do recall narrowing the primary bevel a little and then adding a secondary bevel. It seems like there's no consistency to angles anywhere on the thing so I'm liable to modify it drastically. I'm just curious as to what he ended up with that was the least disappointing. I've got the thing to where it did fair work on limbing and chopping some little black walnut trees the other day but I don't know that it really did a heck of a lot more than my ESEE fixed blade knives would have. It still seems a bit like a weird axe/machete hybrid that can't really do what an axe or a machete can.
ОтветитьHahaha exclamation point in the name
ОтветитьRest In Peace.
Ответитьthe scales on mine are loose, without any use
Ответитьbtw it's 'thience'
ОтветитьCan't believe it. No way. Oh man. Rip sir
ОтветитьJust dropped in to say goodbye. sad to hear you are gone.
I loved it that you didn't just teach what to do to sharpen a knife but gave understandings of the dynamic interactive causality.
Some things are so simple and so profound.
I wouldn't have thought to lower my Chinese knock off of an Edge Pro to 7 deg per side on a dirt cheap general kitchen knife. I can still remember the feeling of 'WOW' when I first sliced some capsicum with it, so effortless compared to anything I had experienced in a knife before.
I consider you an example and a model for making the world a better place by encouraging reality based thinking, getting your message out there and talking to those that wanted to talk to you.
Thank you
sincerely
david
Wherever you are now fella - you just had me p1ssing myself laughing !
