The TRUTH Behind Joystick Drift

Yall act like it's hard to replace those analog sticks. It takes me 15mins to replace it on my Xbox controller and cost about $1.50 for 20 on ebay.

I could probably get the darn thing apart where can I get the replacement parts from

The pots aren't the only problem. PS1, 2, and 3 all used the same exact type of analog core and I have never once had drift issues with those, and they've been very heavily used over the years. When you compare an analog core from a PS4 or PS5 controller with one from an older controller, you can see that the entire core is more cheaply manufactured. It's all plastic now. From what I've seen repairing and testing controllers, half of the drift issues could be resolved if there was an option built into the systems to adjust the stick dead zone. My PS5 controller has drift in the left stick and it wouldn't drift if I could ever so slightly adjust the dead zone. Even just the weight of my Kontrol Freaks is enough for it to register movement.

That's why my nintendo 64 controller never had drift!

I never experienced stick drift had the ps4 for years
