FALL (2022) Gave Me Anxiety - Let Me Explain

I just came across this movie at random channel surfing and while the plot twist (if you can call it that) was kinda lame and I feel like we were robbed by not seeing the actual rescue at the end, it did make me very uncomfortable on several occasions. The fact it's an indie film and the production was pretty darn good is enough to tell someone to give a whirl when your bored.

I think Hunter was probably going to free climb this originally and that the rope was only to make Becky feel good. She seems delusional, as if she can just declare that nothing will go wrong and that’s all she has to do.

The one big thing I wonder about is whether that phone could have survived at the end. A body will disintegrate on impact from those heights from what I’ve read. But it’s also possible the message got sent before impact too.

These two may also not have been knowledgeable climbers. Maybe the husband just gave them the bare minimum knowledge. Hunter doesn’t seem to care either. Just wants views and clicks.

This movie is making everyone sweat, I read that over and over. It was the case for me as well.

am I the only one who hated this movie? yes it makes me anxious, but then immediately takes me out of that by plot holes. like, the brunette falls WITH THE LADDER, watching it crumble around her, but the second she gets up again she’s all “that was close! let’s use the ladder to get home now!” BITCH WHAT

and the plot twist was terrible! It just pissed me off it felt so half assed

I couldnt get anxious because the script is so bad. When she called the vultures pricks for eating the animal I had to take a break from the movie.

I think the f bombs would have been better and more realistic

Just watched this, and DAMN! I have a morbid fear of heights and pretty much the entire movie gave me anxiety, I was quite literally on the edge of my seat! I thought the acting was really great, very believable. I would totally recommend this film!

Ok now please someone explain to me - why didn't she just set up the drone with the note when she was on the lower floor of the tower ? It is safer and increases the chance of both of them getting rescued

The scene at the end where Becky's father hallucinates that she's still alive (after she actually got hit by a low flying plane after forgetting to screw the safety light back in) was the saddest part.

It would've been funny if one of them screamed out: "I DON'T LIKE TODAAAY!!"

This entire movie is just so stupid, and unrealistic. Why would experienced climbers ONLY bring one rope, maybe 50 feet long? At the very least, you should've had a couple ropes that get you down to the enclosed tower, in case you have to repel down, when, not if, but when the ladders fail.

Why wouldn't you have energy bars and other types of quick energy food? And more than just 1 water bottle? And gee, you are in the dessert, how about bringing sunscreen, and a hat at the very least? How about alerting people where you are going to be, in case, you know, you get STUCK at the top?

Last thing, you had a drone. Why not tie your phone to the drone, and fly it down to the bottom, and get your message sent? Oh wait, well then, the whole movie would be 5 minutes, and there would be no time for ANY plot, and stupidly trivial drama that happens. So, yes, let's make the girls experienced, but stupid climbers. You would think that's an OXYMORON.

It would be over if they used any climbing technique at all but the movie would be over too quickly if they actually used their skills.

To sleep they should of tied the rope around eachoter and the pole at the top, like tie themselves to the pole since Becky always having bad dreams and shit... u cant be doing all that moving around in the middle of the night up here baby girl😂😂

Becky found out Hunter was sleeping with her man and got Pushed off the tower.. you seen how pressed she was about his death.. this is just the story she told... also i woulda just rocked the tower till it leaned over and jumped off right before it hit the ground 😂.. or tied the ropes around the pole and around me and kinda grappled down💪🏾 but im black so yall know i woulda never been up there in the first place... definitely wouldn't of invited someone ive completely wronged😂😂 good movie tho

Why didn't one of them just wrap the rope around the tower and connect it to the harness she was wearing and then just slowly propell down to where the ladder was still attached, like a controlled version of sliding down a fire pole (only the pole is really wide). That shouldnt have been too driving given that she had enough upper body strength/control to climb to the top of the antenna to charge the drone. . . 🤷🏼‍♀️

I thought the movie was terrible. The girlfriend and I could barely get through it all. Poor acting as well.

Highly unbelievable characters. Nothing about them says they are climbers or social media people. This must of been written and produced by idiots in a safe space. No attempt at accuracy when it came to the subject matter. Dumb dumb dumb 😂

This movie just confirmed to me that a movie does not need a crazy over the top plot for it to be interesting. Fall just has a simple plot and runs with it

How did Hunter’s body land on the satellite? I’ve rewatched the Hunter falling scene over and over and the satellite isn’t under her fall path. Then later in the movie when the twist is revealed, the satellite magically repositions under her body. What am I missing?

Scariest movie that I have seen in quite a while. I'm not into the blood and guts horror movies. This reminded me more of the old Alfred Hitchcock movies. They don't have to show it because your imagination makes it better than any special effects ❤

I had sweaty hands and feet while watching this movie. And I was twisting and twitching in my armchair. Still I wouldn't let my eyes off of it.

There is nothing to explain, anyone who ever used a climbing rope,harness, carabiner and went for ONE session knows that the writer didn't bother to google "how climbing works" this movie defies all climbing practicess, logic and at times even physics (like that bs with you pull the rope while I climb) wtf. Stupidest movie ever -3/10. If you have a low budget then at least you could do is research the fucking topic youre making the movie around. Mind you Im no pro climber nor a fanatic, Im a dude who goes casually with friends from the club to climb on weekends since 2019, and this movie was like a child wrote it. Oppening scene defies all logic, if they need the dude to die, research 5 min and make it believable, there is no such scenario where you dangle upside down on one single safety equipement while no others are present in the scene on your harness (how the f did you get there in the first place) and then you say "unclip me".... why not for example that he just happened to take a fall over a sharp edge and it cut the rope instead of him dangling struggling to reach the rock even tho the part he fell off from is positive climbing.... the entire movie is wtf and just because 90% are oblivious to physics logic and climbing practices, doesnt mean that they shouldnt have put in the effort.

As good as the cinematography was...this was the dumbest movie I have ever watched.
