Merkel was responsible for the mass illegal immigration into the EU , and also responsible for the bad state of German infrastructure , and germany has to choose , either respect other EU countries , or leave .

Merkel could democratically stay in power forever if she wanted, after all the Germans always kept re-electing her. However, she chose to step down, unlike dictators like Putin and Xi Jinping who are doing everything they can to remain in power forever, including sending secret agents to hunt opposition leaders that flee Russia and China - they certainly envy Merkel because if Putin and Xi runned in a democratic election they would certainly lose.

actually the great coalition isn't a coalition of three party but two as the CSU and the CDU form a union party with two separate party leaders. But the CSU only can be elected in Bavaria and the CDU in every 'State' Bavaria.

honostly i think Olaf Scholz is actually a pretty good chancelor altough i think his managment in the Corona and Ukraine Crisis could be better
