I really hate to break this to you, but there are two career groups that are impossibly stupid. And one of those is teachers. I'm serious. Students don't learn this stuff because most teachers can't teach it. And as they say in West Virginia, "Ya all can't fix stupid". And by the way, for those astronomers out there, gravity is NOT the dominate force in the universe. Over 100 years down the shit hole. And that's only the beginning of your woes.
ОтветитьOur physics book is the worst.... There are several mistakes but the most hilarious one goes like this ' a crown's weight is 10kg and in water its weight is 9.4kg.....'
There are many mistakes in the examples and they don't even explain anything...... They didn't even give all the formulas needed to do the maths..... We have to do it on our own
Thank God I'm doing the IB
Ответитьmeanwhile, its now 2019 going on 2020 and I still have to argue with people about the nature of reality because the level of scientific knowledge they retain is sub-highschool let alone anywhere close to accurate. Physics is bad enough, but try discussing the complex nature of human beings on vital social issues with people who know nothing of biology.
ОтветитьWhy would a capitalist country want its people to be educated? Well-educated people don't make very obedient employees and consumers.
ОтветитьI truly hate crash course
ОтветитьIn Finland the education system teaches all of those missing things you named except chaos theory and relativity is only skimmed over by showing the equation E=mc^2.
ОтветитьIt is easier said than done. The transition is going to take a lot of efforts. You have to educate all the teachers.
But I believe, this can be done gradually by introducing modern physics as some small courses and gradually expanding. (However the classical physics has a lot of day-to-day application).
Good video
ОтветитьPlease make videos that will help my high school kids.
Kind regards
And we should do the same for a lot of other subject ;-)
ОтветитьTell again Trump.
ОтветитьMan same goes for math. Like why do we have to teach algebra in such an obscure way that leaves no space for other things?
ОтветитьBruh, the physics ya’ll are learning are older than my country.
ОтветитьAmerica is home to telecommunications and computing industry? HAHAHAHAHA
ОтветитьA ha ! This is the video that pointed me to Brady. I thought it was Vlogbrothers or SciShow
ОтветитьWait ..they don’t teach evolution in American high schools? 🤔
ОтветитьCouldn't agree more. High school physics is super boring to me. On the other hand, modern physics research and applications sound very interesting.
ОтветитьDo you support capitalism?
ОтветитьHigh school physics is required to truly understand modern Physics! However you can get the basic understanding of modern physics but you must look for that on your own to fulfil you curiosity.
ОтветитьMy teacher told the class that plasma didn't exist slowly reaches tea
ОтветитьTeacher:So, the test tommorow is about the states of matter, feel free to ask any questions as you like and I will answer and them if not then you can just read your notes ok?
Some student: Teacher, what are stars made out of?
Teacher:They're made of gases (insert student name).
My brain: Well "teacher" they are techinically made up of hydrogen and helium that have been separated of their electrons and the force to push the star outwards aka plasma and nuclear fusion
Me:Isn't it plasma?
Teacher:Plasma are gases
Me:WT(insert tsar bomba meme here)
This happened btw
uh well the president changed. shit.
Ответить12 yr old: watches physics videos
teacher: what did you learn today?
12 yr old: fourth dimensions and more than i will ever learn in elementary or middle school!
teacher: uhhhhhh what now?
wow this was made along time agao
ОтветитьCarl Sagan is overrated. As is Feynman. Now burn me
ОтветитьAnd I thought this happens only in India...
ОтветитьLaughs in European
ОтветитьMost schools and colleges lack intuition and the use of those scary equations... students are more feared than enjoying physics :(
ОтветитьPhysics should be for 10-12th grade with calculus starting in 11th grade so there can be some understanding on the subject as a whole by the time of graduation. Granted you'd have to fix all the other problems leading up to high school too unless you're willing to just teach concepts and not the underlying mathematics
ОтветитьMan, this video hasn’t aged well. Mainly because it was ignored. You’re not wrong tho.
ОтветитьI got to know about modern physics by reading books of Stephen Hawking, Carl Sagan , Richard feynam and Neil de grasee Tyson.
ОтветитьThe latest math taught in most US high schools is calculus, developed by Leibnitz and Newton around 1675.
ОтветитьThis video represents the viewers frustration for the education system
ОтветитьThe reason why students don't enjoy physics, is because teachers don't show the beauty of physics!
ОтветитьI didn't learn shit from my physics teachers. I have decided to buy my own books and teach myself
ОтветитьNeither Carl Sagan nor NDT deserve to be put on the same level as Feynmann in this video ... for the lack of one little thing: CREDIBILITY
Ответить“Imagine if high school didn’t teach about the abolition of slavery”
Some people don’t have to.
It's been 9 years. Has any progress been seen?
ОтветитьAqui un latinoamericano en cuyas escuelas publicas terminan secundaria sin ver siquiera unidades del SI. Ojala nadie me note
Ответить"imagine if history class didn't talk about slavery"
oh boy do i have fun news for you... /sobs
who else here from neal fun
ОтветитьMost Americans prefer the magic sky man theory of how the universe started so i wouldn’t count on any cosmology being added
ОтветитьI dont think obama watched this
ОтветитьJack Quaid as Richard Feynman got me thinking: Who might play Carl Sagan? Keeping in mind that Jack Quaid is quite the newcomer to major-release films.
ОтветитьBeing able to appreciate the beauty of physics and being able to understand and apply the mathematics that underpin are two very different things. Most high school students do not have the calculus background that is necessary to actually calculate things in quantum, much less general relativity. By all means, tell high school students how cool these things are, but they can't learn about them with any meaningful depth unless the math curriculum is much accelerated. The foundation in classical physics is also important, and there isn't time for everything in the single year of high school physics most students are offered.
