How to hit golf driver long & straight (simple guide)

Hi Rick - how do u get the red tracer while I record my swing

As an amateur I find if I focus on my follow through, and don't try to kill it, I hit the ball further and straighter

Love these series. The slice video fixed my slice immediately I already knew what was wrong after the first video of the series but still watched the rest.
Now onto fixing my swing lol, but I think I’ve got that worked out after this series now too.

I used to hit my driver “ok”. Then I started drilling my irons for the short game. Now I can barely get a shot off the green. Hoping this will help

I notice your shaft is leaning back a little bit at address. It adds loft. Some people say the shaft should be straight up and down at address. What's your opinion on this?

I’ve been on the driving range and I’m brand new to this, my best was a 220 yard but after this video and a few practice shots I hit a 260 😊

I practise the follow through at the driving range perfectly, but when I’m at the course it doesn’t work. And I know it effects my swing path.

Rick, went out with my Dad for our first round in a few years, he is near scratch player and I'm always nervous playing with him as I shoot around 25HCP. Hit 8/9 fairways/greens today after watching your videos.

This is legit. I'm the guy who never leaves reviews or comments. I hit my driver on the course, but out of principle more than benefit. In actuality it was a negative for my game. No additional distance vs my longer irons and way more lost balls. We'll, half a bucket in and I'm hitting nothing but straight drives with several rolling out to 250, which is a multi step function improvement for me. Sheils, you're a genius at this!

Hey Rick, love this and the other complete guide series!
I can’t be the only one who thinks another great series to add would be the chip/approach shot.
Or perhaps a more general focus on how to dial in the power of your swing, assuming that twisting all the back for every type of shot isn’t going to work.
Anyways, keep up the great work!

Question Rick I was at topgolf today in Glasgow and everytime I hit with the driver I would ping it out wide to the right.

Does the release of the hands still feel the same?

I’m so thankful for this video helped so much it took away my slice so it’s almost perfectly straight added distance since I’m swinging upwards on the ball now and helped consistency

Rick I am a new golfer am I better using a high tee with my 11.5 loft Callaway x hot or tee down I am getting it high and about 170 distances.I am 66 year old beginner and have been playing 6 months

i agree BUT . do not try to loft the ball up in the air or you will just pop the ball high in the air

Ahh i played for 4years from year 6 to 9 then stoped and now going to play again now I’m 16

Got back into golf after 7+years by going to the range again over the last couple of weeks. couldn’t get my driver hitting right at all until watching this guide last night, went to the range today and instant improvement, ball flying straight and far, thank you Rick!

I've been suffering for 3 years with my swing. Getting a really bad diving hook at 150 yards. So bad infact it looks like a seagull diving for fish.
I watched your driver guide 25 times this week and I'm driving 270 - 290 with a 3/4 to 7/8 back swing.

Rick I was getting pissed every time I went to hit my ball and dug into the ground after I watched just this part I hit 8 balls consecutively some draws some fades and a couple slices nevertheless I hit the ball and slung it for 200+ yard thank you for the video

Watched this last night with my dog and has fixed 100% of my driver shot issues. Still can’t believe I was able to correct everything in the 35 minutes it took to watch this series. Thanks Rick!! You are the real deal.
