Are you not allowed to lead with your head in Rugby? These hits look hard, but not as brutal as NFL hits. Not taking anything away, just seems like different types of hits.

To all NFL vs RUGBY arguers out there: THEY ARE 2 DIFFERENT SPORTS!! Football has PENALTIES against Bodyslamming and all that. I can BET YOU a Lineman would LOVE to BODYSLAM THE SHIT out of a receiver and it would be alot worse than this. On the other hand, Rugby hits hard, definitely with no pads. They are both rough and 2 COMPLETELY different things. To Football fans: They dont have pads and still hit hard. To Rugby fans: Football has Penalties which prevent all the things that rugby players do from happening.

Why would anyone subject themself to that? I know that football is often referred to a toned down/wimps version of football and after seeing what definitely would've broken several bones I can understand why. Over the course of me playing football I've had tons of injuries but those pale in comparison to what I just saw. If you go through all of that in rugby and still stay standing with minimal brain damage then I salute you. However, I'll stick to football where the injuries are more spread out as opposed to everything breaking at once.

i've played a bit of rugby but not as much as some but aren't most of these illegal tackles. is it the case that hits as opposed to cheek to cheek tackles have become more popular and acceptable? i'm pretty sure if someone did this at your local club the ref would call foul. i'm still a bit rusty on the rules but shouldn't all tackles be below the waist? i know you need to wrap your arms around them and not just bump into them but still seems a bit dangerous.

Rugby is such a primitive, small-minded sport- the bottom line is, the bigger and faster you are- the better you are at it, I refuse to be dictated by a generation of males who society says must play rugby, get into fights and fail academically, it's not so much the risk of playing the game, it's the enjoyment someone physically larger than yourself gets out of causing you pain. If only I were a dictator....the number of people I would have blown off the face of the Earth.
