In the face of propoganda, we believe. In the face of a broken justice system, we turn a blind eye. In the face of people making a scapegoat out of a political party, we join right in. This is who we are as a whole. Hypocrites wearing masks.

So let's do the right thing and take ours off.

This would be a great premise for a movie

When you think about it, the only real difference between the dystopian society and ours is that we don't spend our lives in contented happiness, and our deaths are normally far less dignified.

This is the danger of viewing life as a purely mechanical thing. Complete your duties, and your human worth is gone. Off to the morgue with you, my boy!

That ending made me Sad

Masks (even indoors), propaganda, privacy and freedom violations, deliberate killing of the elderly. Nothing could have come out a few months later proving this movie right.

Certainly this animation has a real twist at the end. One moral of the story is that by handing yourself into the hands of technology...you might be sealing not your fate but your children's fate...and as the world turns it seems it's coming to be proven correct.

If all we are is a meaningless collection of molecules the lives for a while and then ceases to exist then every one of us lives in a dystopian world. Every life ends in tragedy and nothing matters.

The math doesn't add up, they only have one child so is the population being reduced ? If it takes four people to make two children who can only have one child... see where that goes.

I interpret this as the masks represent fake happiness while people are truly unhappy underneath. Mr Robinson works his balls off for the capitalist system, long hours and low pay. Work, Eat (in your own time), Sleep. The pit at the end represents retirement, when Mr Robinson is no longer useful for the Capitalist system, the robot culls the retired rather than looks after people. After Mr Robinson is culled, Junior then takes his place
