Oh that I would have had the advantage of this video a year ago! I made all the rookie mistakes possible in the game. It amazes me that a year later I'm still playing and doing quite well, and will be the first to tell you that most of my success is due to your other FoEhints videos. It's great that you're doing a peaceful route, it's nice to see since I myself do fighting because I've always found it to be a bit more efficient with space/investment with regard to the guild expedition since I've got alcatraz/rogues, and plundering can be such a great benefit if you don't care about your neighbors. I never thought people took it too seriously until I read my guildmates talking about it and it made them very very upset, but for example in my modern era city I can defeat every neighbor with a few losses on the people with the defense GBs or with the next era's units and the few times you get something large really makes up for the space used by your military buildings, and the week tournament medals are a nice little benefit (esp when you have a pool of unattached units from every age so you can win every age below you on the people with lax defense), but I guess it's mean lol. Dunno if the chance of BPs is different for plundering/aiding, but it's definitely quicker to just go through and aid everyone tbf. Fighting can become very tedious though, especially when you do it a lot.

Nice though if you don't do the coin quest while you are collecting the hood in day 1 you are wasting the coins.

Good initial advice is to move the town hall in the corner to save space.

I always thought that "fighter" is a player who gets profit and develops from fighting, like GvG or constant plundering. The one who complete Continent map and first 2 levels of GE by fighting is just an efficient player ;)

Anyone remember 2 minute production times?

In my latest world, I am still in the Bronze Age. One of my early goals is usually to Smithery on the tech tree because this tech allows you to join guilds. I do the 5 minute productions like you do and I build a bunch of huts instead of stilt houses because they provide 6 coins every 5 minutes (18 in 15 minutes) while the stilt houses only provide 11 coins in 15 minutes. I want the coins because I use them to buy FP when I run out (before researching the wheel). Once I have purchased enough to reach smithery, I hop from guild to guild, aiding each player. This allows me to possibly get some BPs and also collect coins for the recurring quest (Gather 1800 coins) which gives me rewards such as goods, FPs, BPs, medals, etc. Going the peaceful route, you will need goods to negotiate with. Goods are scarce in the beginning and I find the recurring quests are a good way to collect a few

It’s more effective to place 2 buildings north of the town hall. You’ll only need 1 road to connect 2 or 3 buildings.

I wish they still gave you an option to select which you wanted to be: A Fighter or a Merchant - If they did I would select Merchant, I like selling 💩 ...... 😆

i cant see friends list that early in the game ? do i have to w8 untill unlock friends tavern?

Maybe the game has changed since this video was made because the game does not have access to neighbours or inviting friends at this stage of research in the game. This is a serious setback in thr Power start as it changes the supply of coin drastically.

I played this in year 7 then I quit because it was too long, now I am in uni and understand how waiting and slowing building your empire is the key to success. And I started playing this game now.
