I just got a coin with Arcadius on it. You can get killer deals on nobody emperors. One with Octavian on it is like a grand. I got another with Maximian on it.

Actually the column of Arcadius had to be torn down in the 1500s due to being weakened by earthquakes.

Arcadius is basically the Roman version of King Henry VI of England. His weakness leads everyone around him to fight each other for scraps.

His achievement(despite questions of 'achievement' on being attributable to him) for commemorative column seems too small to build it, and your humorous sarcasm made me laugh loud with a lot of fun. On top of humorous and/but proper assessment for arcadius, your video is full of contents and often surprises me. Good watching and learning.

Two neat points I learned recently: 1) John Chrysostom is arguably the originator of Christian antisemitism and the charge of deicide (earlier Christian works, were somewhat antisemitic, but were really more or less defending Christian practice at a time Christians were powerless, whereas during Chrysostom’s age Christianity was dominant, so the context is very different)
And 2) Aelia Eudoxia apparently had a eunuch choir-master who is speculated to have been the originator of the Castrati (eunuch singer) tradition in western music.

You are trivializing one of the greatest moral figures of Christianity and a saint. Your account is historically inaccurate and you have selected and interpreted only certain pieces with which to push a shallow woke narrative. Chrysostom was loved by the common people and they revolted against his exile. The Western Emperor and the Pope also spoke and acted in his defence. Eudoxia is a vein shallow nonentity which got in power by chance and did not have neither the intellect not the morals to do anything useful with it. People can be well-educated and stupid at the same time.

I'm pretty amazed to see that person as sickly as Arcadius performed in the bedroom much better than the courtroom, like he had 5 children with Eudoxia (possibly even more). Not that bad champ 💀

The Roman Castrati were much more fortunate than their Eastern brethren in the Han and subsequent dynasties. Nothing was left for a Eunuch to hang his hat on in Xian or Loyang.

Arcadivs was basically a less bad version of Emperor Honorivs who kept his empire mainly intact through mostly competent advisors & his wife, unlike that of his younger brother, the only exceptions Honorivs had being Stilicho and Constantivs III.
