Sir Nick used a tee, I wonder why that is?
ОтветитьI have a theory on this. It is basically setting up the slot. From there you are in the slot and all you need to do is take the club up and down in the same channel (at least in terms of feel) and you will have so much power because there is no re-routing going on. It is like chopping wood with an axe. You take it up in the slot and drop it down in the slot. You would never take the axe up to the side, re-route it and try and make contact with the wood. No. You would do something like this. I really like this.
ОтветитьI was getting ready to quite golf. Took this to the range and wanted to cry it worked so good. Holly shit!!!
ОтветитьDidn’t have a lot of time to use this in my practice or warmup yesterday, so I actually used it on the course with pretty good success. The quality of the strike it produced was excellent. More work is needed but it seems to be a game changer for me.
ОтветитьGot to say, I tried this weekend, I am a fader/ slicer of ball from coming over top, over years adjusted grip to compensate, tried this and now hitting more left, I think with adjustments this is the best drill I have ever tried to correct my issues
ОтветитьThis works so well for me I play golf this way now
Ответитьamazing tip , i am gonna just swing like this on the golf course !
ОтветитьThis is an excellent drill. It helps build the muscle memory in your swing if repeated over and over at the range. Before you know it, it will become automatic - mostly because it is a natural movement not some contrived mechanical solution that only wrecks your swing in the long run.
Love Sir Nick. I watched him throughout his career, he was a joy to watch. I also loved him as a commentator. Now he has retired to Montana, I wish him well but he will be sorely missed.
I was taught this drill by a great golf instructor almost 22 years ago and I never used it. Now at 72 and practising this drill I am hitting the most crisp iron shots since I took up golf.
ОтветитьThanks for posting this drill. I started it 3 weeks ago and I am thrilled with how I am now striking the golf ball. I feel confident this is not a quick fix but a major building block in setting up my golf swing for success by putting me in a great position at the top.
ОтветитьOff to the range tomorrow to try this.
ОтветитьPowerSlot Swing!! Why make it a drill when you can start in a more relaxed setup position, short game and all, every time you hit the ball?. Thank you Sir Nick Faldo!
ОтветитьI found it yesterday morning and to the golf course in the evening Absolute game changer for me, very happy and enjoyed the evening, Thank you Sir.
ОтветитьJust started trying this on the range and it actually made my striking of the ball worse, seemed to top the ball and slice it more. It felt difficult to bend my wrists to a more extreme angle.
ОтветитьKISS and it works perfectly
ОтветитьSo is this an equal feeling for both wrists? One more than the other? That’s my question.
ОтветитьI’ve been trying to get this down. Consistently thinning my shots in this drill 😭😭😭😭
ОтветитьThis is so amazing I have shot legit 69 and low 70s with this drill when my normal swing could lead me to high 70s and 80. The big problem I have with this drill is my big flaw is "dropping" my hands way too inside and when I do this drill it usually eliminates that. The only problem is I never can get it to translate to my real swing so I end up just pre-set drilling as a real swing. it works but I really would like to go back to a normal swing eventually.
ОтветитьThis is a great drill. I highly recommend it. My best results were when I began with about 50% effort for about 6-8 swings, then 75% for the remainder. I really don't need much more than that as I'm hitting darn near everything on the center of the face.
ОтветитьExcellent sir nick
ОтветитьI love "absolute musts". Makes life easier
ОтветитьWatched this amazing drill and played with it every shot. Not a fade in sitght. Nothing but long draws
ОтветитьWhat a swing!! 6 majors worth 💰
Ответитьlooks like Danny Willett does this in his takeaway and he has a Green Jacket.
ОтветитьDoes anyone know if he throws his wrists at impact (sideways hammer motion) or is he more passive? I recently found a similar video where the PGA instructor wants us to hammer the wrists sideways at impact, a more active motion than just a release of the angles. I've never tried to forcefully hammer my wrists at impact and am wondering if anyone else tries to "hammer" their release?
ОтветитьGreat Drill! I actually blend the 2 moves together in all my swings. If I don't
use this drill, I don't set my wrists, I get "stuck", early extension, & shanks! Thanks for the great video!
Faldo is so underrated
ОтветитьGreat drill. Gets the club on the proper path for a consistent plane.
Ответитьwhat happened to the sound?
ОтветитьThis drill is courtesy of David Leadbetter and Nick Price and Phil Ritson
ОтветитьThis drill alone could transform so many amateurs games. I was taught a similar drill when I began where I would get to that position then rotate until the club was vertical and do a couple pump swings before hitting a teed up ball. Thanks for sharing!!
ОтветитьSAME WITH DRIVER AND WOODS ?
ОтветитьSomebody recently posted this link onto one of the Facebook pages....I tried this and love it! Really simplifies the total swing and can't wait to practice it more. Feels more natural than one would expect even when making the moves independently. Hoping this will evolve eventually into one motion through muscle memory. Now to try this with my driver also :)
ОтветитьThis drill really is amazing! 10 minutes after trying it I was off scratch, the following day I won the Open.
ОтветитьClear, doable, and helpful. One of most effective tips ever. Thanks Nick!
ОтветитьI have been working on this drill "until the cows come home" almost every day for two months and the results have been dramatic. No more early extension. No more over the top. The right elbow drops in the slot and BOOM!
ОтветитьI love this drill. To take it one step further try it with a rolled up towel tucked under both arm pits. Talk about connected. WOW!
ОтветитьI Have been hitting a lot of pull hooks. Just came back from the rangeusing Nick's drill. Out of 50 balls, 2 went left. Tried the last ball with anormal takeaway & couldn't have struck it better. Thanks, Nick. Can't wait until tomorrow.
ОтветитьHi
Can I play this preset drill with my knuckles pointing down, this giving a very closed club face. Thanks dave
The ultimate anti-over the top drill. People who continue to struggle mastering the one-piece takeaway are literally getting robbed.
ОтветитьUnbelievable! This really works. After watching this yesterday , today I went to the course to try it out. Spent three hours practicing this and hit the ball so solid. Just hinging setting my wrist earlier then usual. Works with all my clubs. Thank you
ОтветитьThanks
ОтветитьSuch a beautiful swing.
ОтветитьI was under the impression that the toe of the club (halfway back) shouldn't be pointing to the sky but more closed ( a touch) or am I missing something ?
ОтветитьSir Nick Faldo won three Masters AND three British Opens in six years, a record that most golfers would trade their doodads to have. Probably a good idea to listen to what he says.
ОтветитьWhy can’t we do this in real game all the time?
ОтветитьI started to practice this drill at the range a couple of weeks ago and found it brilliant. Since then this is how I play on the course and my scores are tumbling.!!! Cheers nick
ОтветитьOne of the best drills around. I even think about this during my swing and sort of push the club up, ala Ernie Els. It works.
ОтветитьDrills are only good for making holes
