How to get into cybersecurity freelancing

Wait, adaptation is here as well. But how frequently do I need to learn new things? I was a software developer and i had to learn new technologies every few months or a year.

I’d really like to do this but I’m 45 and a Fire Sprinkler designer, completely nothing to do with cybersecurity lol
