Fuck upscaling, make better hardware and games that don't cripple GPUs for no reason.
ОтветитьIntel 👏🏼
ОтветитьXeSS 1.2 looks extremely wobbly and unstable in a bunch of scenes in Cyberpunk in a way it didnt on 1.1
ОтветитьAMD boys often claim that FSR provides the same image quality as DLSS, but in reality, FSR is even worse than Intel XeSS.😂 I've personally compared DLSS and FSR in different games and found that if I need more FPS, I can just use DLSS and still get decent picture quality. However, if a game only supports FSR and I want more FPS, I'd rather lower the graphics settings to maintain the original resolution. When FSR is enabled, it usually causes annoying flickering, makes the picture ridiculously oversharp, or does both at the same time.
ОтветитьThe more upscaling videos I watch the more I realize how much of a scam it is. Instead of giving real performance they’re concentrating more on artificial performance.
ОтветитьAs I don't even notice any different with just a glance on the zoomed footage comparison, I would say that this is a win. I originally hoped that upscaling technique would be a boon for low-end systems and give some life/extend the relevancy of older hardware. It became who is the best at 4k instead.
At this point, I kinda don't care, I would enable whatever available.
Lol what's even the point of comparing the losers? Dlss beats both by a wide margin.
ОтветитьFrankly, I’m disappointed that these 3 tech giants would rather waste their time on upscaling and frame gen when in reality they should be giving us the horsepower. I’d much rather run a game at 4K 80 fps than 4K 60 upscaled to 4K 100.
ОтветитьBear in mind that I absolutely love the idea of these types of enhancements, and I recognize that many users see significant improvements in their gaming experience. For myself, and only myself, even though I have two year old hardware, nothing in any of these presentations convinces me that I need to use anything like this for the games that I play.
ОтветитьFsr performance if you like blurry pixalixed image lol
ОтветитьFriends don't let friends use fsr
ОтветитьI see the joke moustache issue has been fixed, much better.
ОтветитьFSR is the reason why I went with Nvidia. I only use resolution scaling when gaming at 4K and it looks really good 👍
ОтветитьInteresting comparison, but I would suggest Intel focus on native res performance and stability and skip frame generation entirely, as it's the least useful tech to come out. At best it masks a GPU's lack of performance just to allow gamers to avoid lowering detail and resolution to get smoother gameplay; at worst it negatively alters the gameplay experience.
Copying every feature nVidia releases is a waste of time and resources, which is exactly what nVidia want AMD and Intel to do.
Get the native performance up to where you don't need upscaling or frame generation. That's the best way to compete with nVidia.
Feature parity won't work when nVidia is the one dictating what those features are.
Look up Intel ExtraSS for details about ARC frame generation
Ответитьi think XESS needs a sharpening filter added it's a bit soft at times. not a lot but a little. And the reall thing that needs ipproving is RSR and specially NIS as that is the only feature that works in ALL GAMES. many games lack implementation so i dont care to much about these features till 100% of the games have it. plus sometimes you can combine RSR + FSR for a stacking gain.
ОтветитьI prefer performance/FPS more than the "quality of upscalers". To me they all look great, but it may be because I come from a time of 90's gaming. Everything just looks amazing today and nitpicking what can render what better to me is pointless.
Ответитьidk why amd wont improve their upscaling, they have to see that so many people think theirs is way worse than dlss. How do they expect people to jump ship...
ОтветитьCan we get a quality comparison with the full xmx model?
ОтветитьIf only intel actually followed through and made it FOSS. Currently it has a weird license and just loads blobs...
ОтветитьGreat video although missed XeSS 1.2 Quality on Talos Principle 2
Ответитьfunny you mention intel developing a frame gen technology...
ОтветитьIntel has sucked at anything graphics forever why should we trust them now?
ОтветитьI didn't watch the whole I video. I skipped a lot but I barely saw any differences mentioned. Probably only blinking textures 😅
The difference is probably more noticeable when you actually play them.
AMD fan boys crying . Let's go Intel!
ОтветитьOne of the reasons I bought a 4090 was to not need frame generation. Overall the move away from native performance sucks.
ОтветитьTim has such a soothing voice I almost fall asleep. 😅
ОтветитьOnly Native 🤟
ОтветитьEven with my weak 6500XT i prefer to play @ 30fps on Native 1080p low than medium upscaled 540 or 720p
ОтветитьIt sucks that AMD didn't capitalized the 7000 series Hardware and make use of their AI accelerators, for hardware accelerated upscaling, somehow they are making their 7000 series an inferior product where they could have make use of its component to optimize for a better version of upscaling. I believe FSR 3 has that feature but instead they want to look like they care as well on their prev gen cards and the result they are making their 7000 series an inferior card as well. I do hope AMD will start caring their 7000 series customers and make an upscaling technology that works the most of their hardware as well.
ОтветитьI use FSR with my 6700xt and enjoy it @1440p quality.
Ответитьa lot of pixel hunting. For the same amount of fps. Personally for me these technologies are about equal. In real gameplay
ОтветитьAre the owner of techspot website ? I am new to this channel
ОтветитьAs an idiot who bougth an AMD GPU. FSR turns out to be the absolute trash no one deserves! With more and more titles not being developed anymore for native performance, but for this upscaled azz! We AMD idiots are suffering through massive Image Ghosting!
And not using FSR means performance goes down the drain. Last year i had no problem playing every single game 1440p Ultra 60+FPS.
Since beginning of 2023 the majority of people play 720p again, to "just" hit 60FPS with massive shader stutters in every single title! What the actual F.!?
This is useless AMD users that arent on 7000+ series gpu right?
My 5700xt doesbt support dp4a
So is FSR still better then Intels least efficient code for upscaling
The problem is, on 1080p xess looks like sh*t. It needs a sharpness path. If the game do not have a sharpness scaler, do not use xess on 1080p, it is blurry af.
ОтветитьI know people will hate me for saying this but I honestly cant tell the difference, esp in gameplay
Ответитьmaybe it is my age or my monitor, but I never see any difference when you show the graphics next to each other. For me it all looks the same, I would not even know when to use it and why. I play 1440p, I don't play FPS games, and I don't play multiplayer games at all.
ОтветитьI feel like the generation beyond this coming gen of intel cards will be virtually on par in almost all aspects with AMD and NVIDIA if they continue to advance at this rate
ОтветитьFeeling AMD has been putting a lot of effort on Frame Generation and kinda neglected the upscaling side to FSR, which still has ways to go.
ОтветитьAny details on latency improvements?
ОтветитьImpressive.
ОтветитьI have unsubscribed from HWU because of this video. Clickbaity title and "RIP" does not comprehend the continued pace of development, differences in framerate/quality, and current lack of framegen for XESS. This is a very dynamic subject. Its great we have options, claiming that FSR is "RIP" is irresponsible journalism and doesn't help anyone. Was it worth the clicks?
ОтветитьI think you're overlooking a crucial factor re: FSR, both consoles Xbox and Playstation are using AMD SOCs and will be doing so in the foreseeable future as Intel has nowhere near anything as performant as AMD's Graphics offerings in form of APUs let alone custom APUs/SOCs (not to mention they are non-existent in the console space). FSR will continue to be integrated by developers as it would help eek out more performance out of the consoles via upscaling and with a combination with FSR frame gen (which Intel has nothing on the front yet). Not to mention, FSR has now a unreal engine plugin and given alot of games are being built using Unreal engine.... FSR will continue to be to integrated. Edit: For clarification, I do hope Intel keep improving XeSS as we do need competition across the board. But calling for FSR to be dropped is very premature imo - had Intel had Frame Gen, had made XeSS truly open source, had a Unreal engine plugin and had custom SOC designs in consoles then yes, you'd have a point. But sadly for Intel, that's not the reality so yeah calling for FSR to be dropped is very premature lol...
ОтветитьFSR will continue to be the default option for all developers because it's used on both consoles.
ОтветитьI've said it many times. No one should be using these features unless their hardware is so shit it can't hold a decent 60FPS with most setting turned to low.
All that flickering is so jarring on all 3 options.
Much better off just turning a couple settings down to get a performance bump.
This demonstration is an absolute best case for this technology as well, 4k Quality settings.
Most people are still on 1080p or 1440p which makes this upscaling shit even worse.
Way too much time is spent talking about this crap. Now we even have devs leaning on this tech to get playable performance on their shitty games rather that good coding.
It's quite shit all around IMO.
Thank you for this content, it's super interesting and you've explained it really really well.
A couple of things I would like to see: Testing at 1440p. It's a more mainstream resolution than 4K, while also stressing the upscaler tech harder. (Doing well at lower resolutions impresses me much more.)
And a brief (maybe just 10 seconds?) clip of XeSS on Arc, even if nothing's changed just a quick recap with a bit of your thoughts on how well that does. The Arc-only version of it exists, it feels weird to not even show it for a brief moment.
Comparing DLSS 3.5 to FSR 2 is a bit disingenuous, not really fair is it?
