A great video topic we can’t find is ‘How to prepare your Rv for storage in a warm climate’ We’re new GD owners retired and store outside in a fairly warm climate (80s in winter and 90s in the summer) You have fantastic informative videos, thank you!

When parking a camper for the winter in the north with heavy snow dont depend on your tongue jack . Put a jack stand or blocking under the front of your camper and lower your jack putting the weight on them . The tongues are not designed to endure snow weight and can bend when your not looking . Especially if you have substantial snow load on the roof and then it rains . The weight will dramatically increase in minutes . Seen bent tongues a bunch of times . Just sayin

This is very valuable user information. Thank you for taking time out of your busy schedule to share this information. As we enter into the winter season, my concern is winter freezing of my water lines. I'm now to camping and have really enjoyed the outdoor adventure. My travel trailer isn't used as much but my family and I do intent on camping during colder days months. Should I leave my furnance in operation during colder nights to prevent the pipes from freezing? Should I dump my freshwater tank as well until needed? I live in south Louiniana. Thank you again for sharing this video. God Bless.

ch751 also works for a ton of filing cabinets and desks, most all vehicle tool boxes, tons of things really :) Sometimes even the box that secures the keypad to enter a code to enter a building.
My wallgreens card has got me into way too many customers houses (with permission!) whenever I show up and they forget to leave it unlocked. I always advise them of how I gained entry and what can be done to make their (usually new to them) home more secure. I'm an electrician LOL. If you have a few hours to kill look up a video by DeviantOlam i think it was on pen testing. they are long videos of live presentations but contain tons of useful information. I mean, you can have the best firewall in the world but if a guy with a vest and a clipboard can walk into your building and walk out with your server and no one stops him.... well, that's a problem :) He's built a whole business on this. if you can see the latch in the gap between your pass through storage door and the frame, I can enter with a number of objects, from a pocket knife to a piece of blister packaging and gain entry without leaving any damage behind, usually. Great when you lose your keys, bad when you want to keep stuff safe.

I would never leave my gray tank valves open . You don't know what may be crawling up your hose. Could be snakes , bugs , or ants.
And I want a large amount of water to flush behind, after draining my black tank. I installed a extra dump valve where my sewer hose hooks up . With the valves closed I open it first then I can tell if the gray or black tank valves are leaking. If one is , I have time to get it fixed.

Keep the electrical contacts of your outdoor plugs/outlets slathered in Dielectric Grease. Also, when your RV is disconnected from the tow vehicle, make sure the trailer's electrical connector is hanging so the open end is facing the ground...this prevents water from running into the wiring.

I might as well make a comment. He said "As Resistance increases the current decreases" this is wrong. When connections corrode, higher resistance causes the VOLTAGE to drop. As the voltage drops then the current must increase for the device to do the amount of work. So like your space heater causes your plugin connections to over heat it takes more current to put out 1500 watts and boom you got burnt up connections or a fire.

303 & CRC contact cleaner are the bomb !
Very smart using those !!
They won't harm plastic, rubber,, or Nylon either,, like WD & PB. 😉
Best multi purpose lube I discovered from being a 40+ year Mechanic is, - '' Fluid Film''
It is Lanolin based, safer for things,, plus doesn't evaporate like a lot of other stuff,, & also keeps a good film viscosity.
Used ''a lot ''of stuff over the years,, & all these are hands down the best.
The Fluid Film is also excellent after using the CRC, to add a protective coating on terminals ect.

We have had several RV's, and every one has had multiple water leaks in the plumbing. All but one were loose fitting nuts where the supply lines connect to a faucet, toilet, shower, outside kitchen etc. At least twice a season, you should go around and hand tighten every one of these fittings. I know it's a pain to access shower and water heater fittings, but we have had leaks into walls and floors from both of them. These leaks were all on newer RV's usually under warranty. But who wants their RV in the shop for weeks when you can fix the problem yourself.

The screens are a mixed bag. Something people do not realize is that the appliances are designed around air flow tolerances particularly the furnace. The screens impact the air flow away from the design specifications. For example on the furnace, tight screens on them reduces the venting. It changes the dynamics of the air handling and can damage the system... I had a 25 year tech tell me this. He said IF you are going to do it in areas where the bugs are a problem, have the ones that stand well away from the outflow or if you make your own do the same as it helps that problem. The flat ones even if sold by a company can reduce flow by as much as 30% also posing a danger... From and article by a "master tech" on this. "Yes, that ‘bug’ screen restricts the air flow by as much as 30%. Not enough combustion air means too much gas (i.e. running ‘rich’) and will cause soot build-up inside the heat exchanger, which will result in reduced heat transfer. An additional result of restricted combustion air flow is excessive heat buildup in the motor’s bearings, which usually leads to premature failure of the motor. Warning: Using the bug screens will void your warranty. Comment: If you are using the furnace during the cool spring/fall months or the cold winter months, take the screen(s) OFF! You only need them during the summer months or when the RV is in storage. Besides, no bug can live or build a nest in the furnace when it is running!"

Hello! I bought a toy-hauler/ several months ago and repaired among other things, a leak on my fresh water tank from the discharge tube to the vale. ABS glue joining both with 2 new clamps, sealed it like new. After that I discovered that the two got separated because the factory stopper on the end of the tank to frame was gone, allowing the tank to slide which caused the disconnect. I cut two pieces of beefy angle iron and bolted them to the frame behind the tank so now it won’t move.

Always enjoy your videos. Thank you. Regarding fire extinguishers, beyond checking the gauge or nozzle for obstructions….ever wonder what NFPA 12 is? Labels typically state “Maintain in accordance with NAPA12. The interpretation is: “Once the unit reaches its twelfth year of service, replace or re-certify.
The white ones are disposable. The red ones may be re-certified. 😊
