Up until Alexander the Great, the Spartans were the same Spartans that we read about. Alexander did not battle with the Spartans. Uniting all of Greece, the Spartans were excluded. In this fashion they started adapting some Athenian ways and the Spartans themselves started to think more about themselves than the community. And by the time the Romans came around they were not the same Spartans they were once. And the actual well preserved city of Sparta was destroyed by a Michael Fourmont in 1750, The descendants of the Spartans are known today as Maniates from the city of Mani, which is was the one city the Ottoman empire / Turks could not conquer, even though they enslaved the rest of Greece for 400 years until 1821. It's not a big mystery it's all in the history books

They haven't "long since past". Spartan bloodlines just absorbed into Greece. Women have always been able to solve all of their problems from their backs. It's amazing how videos explaining things hardly ever look at the simplest explanation first.
