They act much more like other organisms. They might not even be eukaryotic.

The giant floaters barely count as creatures. You can't interact with them in any way, so even if they are a creature I'd hardly say you encounter them...

2nd hint put the idea of floaters in my mind, the floating boulders are a pretty noticeable shared trait between those two that's to do with little pickupable fellas. after hint 4 I was pretty confident and after 5th I was like 99% sure
