I wonder if it's a very, very long shot but.. I've been dreaming and thinking back to my childhood and one game that I played, that I have forgotten nearly everything about.
It was similar to the old 90s game Warlords. I remember there was factions and such, but only 2 factions are stuck in my head, one faction had a white shield with blue cross, I know this shield mark is in Warlords, but one of the playable factions was called Kobolds, and they were a monster race you could play as.
Does anyone know which game that could be perhaps? Perhaps the game is in this video but I've not seen it so far or maybe I missed it
One of my main gripes with the NBA Live franchise in the mid 90s is that Jordan isn't in the game. Sometimes Barkley wasn't either. That's pretty annoying for me. What's the point of playing basketball games from this era without playing alongside, or against the legends of the time?
I didn't know about this special mess until I was much older and started playing NBA Live through emulation. Kept playing Chicago and this dude named "Player". Where is Jordan?! A few minutes research later and now I know. Kind of a bummer.
Even better than the Spoony Ultima compilation video. He sucks, you're cool so this is better.
ОтветитьI like that you take the time to talk about each game for a bit. Most of these list videos just show the first 30 seconds of a game after start and don't offer any info at all. This is so much better.
Liked and Subbed.
I used to play a game when I was a kid in school. It was on the PC in 1994. It was a DOS looking game, the main purpose was to use the left and right arrows so you don’t touch the walls / you have to stay in your lane.
From what I recall, it was a black screen, my vehicle looked like a small rectangle, and the walls were dotted lines.
As I passed the levels, the walls got closer together, making it more challenging to not crash. Final level, there was no room between your vehicle and the walls, so you have to be insanely precise.
Have you heard of this game? We used to play it often along with Oregon Trail.
i'm sad I never heard of this channel before. Super stuff.
ОтветитьI'm looking for a top-down aRPG game, but I just can't find it. It was a cross between Diablo and the Gauntlet games or Get Medieval, but unlike in most Gauntlet clones, the character did have some magical powers or consumable items (such as a spell clearing the area around him).
ОтветитьI was getting DOS same time as Windows 95.
NHL 96 was my first MS DOS game. I also had Need for speed, Full Throttle, Fade to Black and Phantasmagoria (7 cd:s! Time before DVD).🙂
CD:s was anyway very modern! And the game-boxes was HUGE! :-)
Very nostalgic... Thanks a lot!
ОтветитьLeisure suit Larry?😂
Ответитьgame from the thumbnail?
Ответитьoh man lol -- i wanted to see if that code for darklands would work, but it looks like it's a code for age of empires 3 that someone redeemed. oops!
ОтветитьWow! This is too awesome, did you actually played all of these? I rmb i played a game with my sister back then, some game where i had to feed the moray eel underwater with a poisoned burger to pass through a cave, it was a short funny game. Missed those old days.
ОтветитьMe and my dad loved Scorched Earth when I was growing up. Heck we was just talking about it a few days ago.
ОтветитьIt's great to point out, that developers who made Master of Magic, started updating the game again after so many years. So if You loved the original game, you can buy now Master of Magic, with a launcher, which consists classic non-updated version, updated version and, get this, developers put a version with a community patch. If possible, please pin this comment, so others know about this!
ОтветитьI liked Street Rod for what it was, but yea, that driving was terrible. And the tracks were very predictable.
ОтветитьOMG, Nightmare on Elm Street. I was trying to remember that game so for awhile. But I couldn't remember it.
ОтветитьZastanawiałem się co to za akcent, ale gdy powiedziałeś że Die Hard to film świąteczny, to już nie miałem złudzeń 😁
Świetny film, dzięki!
First time I'm watching to a +10h video. I don't regret it. Huge work ! Thank you, Sir !
Ответитьnot putting the game titles on-screen while you talk about them in insane
ОтветитьWhat is a cherry cake?
ОтветитьThe games and the period ... pure magic. Unfortunately I had them running on Win95 and that was a nightmare. ;) Awesome Video. Thank you so much.
Ответитьno offense that i like your videos, maybe its your career... that being stated, have you ever considered penguin house publishing? i.e. audiobooks, your voice is really easy going
ОтветитьDie Hard isn't just a Christmas movie, it's the only Christmas movie you need.
ОтветитьFade to black actually managed to look far worse than flashback, which is rare for a sequel.
ОтветитьI don't see Circuit's Edge on this list. That's almost criminal.
ОтветитьI found Rampage on the PC super slow, or at least it ran terribly in DOS Box. I wish it ran better as I really loved that game
ОтветитьHard pass on video. Video game collection videos especially this long is usually done with no commentary as it ruins it. If people want an explanation of a game, they would just look it up. A for effort and time though. Looking for a similar compilation elsewhere without the talking.
ОтветитьWhat an awesome video man, thank you so much for your effort, your channel deserves way more subscribers !
There are some games that you missed though, like Dark Ages (1991) and Dangerous Dave (1990) which were pretty iconic back then
Absolute banger documentary!
ОтветитьDOS games in my opinion, will always REIGN SUPREME in all that is gaming!
🤘😍🤘
Huge, great work! Thanks a lot.
ОтветитьHow is it possible, for 1993, to not mention the two best games not of just that year but arguably of all time for PC DOS, The 7th Guest (second game ever on CD ROM 4/93) and MYST (third game ever on CD ROM 9/93) ?? The 7th Guest literally quadrupled sales of cdrom drives in the US overnight, and where it left off Myst took over and went on to be one of the best selling games of that era and beyond. While I appreciate your efforts in making these videos the non mention of The 7th Guest and Myst in 1993 is a massive massive oversight imho.
ОтветитьMaster of Orion 2 is one of the all time greats. Just perfect
ОтветитьAbsolutely must-watch if you want to understand the humble beginnings of PC gaming when it was young and unexperienced. Quite a hard work done here, lots of details and nostalgia mood. Thank you for this nice documental!!
ОтветитьSorry, OCD here... This video is awesome and your level and pronunciation of English is globally very good. There's just this one word that you repeat quite frequently and that you mispronounce: "various"
The "a" is not like in "bat" or "cat", but like "share" or "scare".
NO! Indiana Jones and the Fate of Atlantis was the best point and click adventure! (obviously just my opinion) Since you mention the Bards Tale games several times in this video you should mention that in 2015ish (can't remember exact year) all three games received a remaster by inXile with all new graphics and many gameplay modernization and quality of life features added. It's an excellent way to play the entire trilogy. Steam and GOG have them available.
ОтветитьThose text parser Sierra adventure games were where adventure games began. With the original Kings Quest. Then of course besides Police Quest there was also Space Quest and Leisure Suit Larry. I grew up playing these text parser games and find them easy and intuitive. Clicking through menus or having giant menus where you have to select an action icon and then click on something for me actually seems way more clunky and less intuitive. Don't get me wrong. I love Fate of Atlantis and Monkey Island for example and Lucas Arts games implement the mouse better than others but the UI takes up half the damn screen.
Ответитьgreat job mate :) too bad LHX was not in the mix.
ОтветитьWT... ? You are legend!. :)
ОтветитьAh, good old days...
ОтветитьWow, so much love for DOS gaming in this epic-ly sized video!!
ОтветитьAmazing...wooow 👌👏👌🧘
ОтветитьMy cousin I basically lived in Descent and Hi-Octane in the 90s. Our two favorite games.Terminal Velocity was so good. I still play Raptor and Tyrian quite often. Demo Derby had a great feature I loved - you could use your own music CDs in game for music.I still play all the descent series - but I have yet to get Hi-Octane to work well one modern systems and it is a shame! We used to play Primal Rage at a nearby arcade all the time.
ОтветитьThis is quite the video. Very impressive.
