what do you recommend for a good longevity replacement tire for the model y (20” rims)?
ОтветитьWhere’s the follow up video to this?
ОтветитьDid you paint your calipers or are they covers?
ОтветитьHi Bro
I have tesla model y with Gemini wheel what tire is best?
How is the Michelin pilot noise VS goodyear eagle F1?
ОтветитьI got the 2022 model y long range came with 20 in rim with good year tire. Those tire has no grip on snow I park the car on drive way for charging as I turn around the car starts sliding ... Like wtf
ОтветитьHELP! I live in Washington state and heard I can only buy Tesla tires and not tires from elsewhere is this true? I need winter tires! I do not feel comfortable sliding like I have been the last 2 days!
I own a 2022 Tesla Model Y. I have right now 19” Gemini wheels.
32,000 isn’t bad. I have had Audis where even with moderate driving I need new tires every 25,000
ОтветитьWe have a lot of potholes in this area, soooo I would go w/a Model 3 w/18” wheels n tires can’t afford to change tires very often…thx peace
ОтветитьI bought Michelin pilot sport as4, and found patterns on driver’s side and passenger side are face different direction.
Ответитьi have 21 Mercedes GLE w/ 13k miles, needed to replace all 4 tires, and front brake pads already. Bigger heavier the car, the slower you should drive, otherwise it'll continue to be costly to operate
ОтветитьWhat tire should I get for my 2021 model three performance? I just got my first flat tire $500 for a replacement. I heard tire rack has a road hazard warranty? I probably want to get all three replaced soon
ОтветитьThat 40-50 definitely depends on what you were driving, My WRX definitely would not get to 50k. It was about the same as your 30k in the tesla.
ОтветитьMy Audi Pirelli lasted 15k miles so anything over 25k seems overachieving 😂
ОтветитьI’m older than you and I still watch initial d from time to time.
ОтветитьYep, I’m a fan of the Michelin AS 4’s. I got them on my last car and am pleased that they came on my MYP.
I was yelling at the screen when you kept saying “wet and snow.” It’s “winter and snow.”
Classically, summer tires have been great in dry and wet conditions. Where winter tires do poorly in those conditions. But when temps go below 40 F, then it’s “winter conditions” and it doesn’t matter how dry the road is, the winter tires out perform the summers.
(Again, this is classical/historical info. As compounds have improved, the lines have blurred. Prime example is with the AS 4s).
Thank you for using kilograms as well!
Ответить75k on a prius :)
ОтветитьI just replaced my stock Continental with Michelin AS 4’s at Costco. The new tires (same size) feel smoother, grippy and more responsive. The only Cons I the tires width is not as wide as the rim. The lip of the rim stick out and more potential of getting curb rash.
Ответитьhave you seen a temperature for pressure?
I have trying to guess the extra 3-4 lbs over when at the gas station (with warmed up tires) to get “pressure when cold”
Any update on the diff in range between the Contis and the Michelins?
ОтветитьThanks you saved me $1000 on replica of uberturbine. I almost bought it from tsportline which was a lot more expensive. Subscribed
ОтветитьWhat tires you have 19 or 20 ??
ОтветитьChris, thanks for the great content. Looking for new tires for my Y LR and your video was spot on! Only got 20K miles on my original 20” induction wheels. Going to go with your recommendation and purchase at Discount Tire. Thanks again for the info.
ОтветитьDoes anyone know if you can use 255/45R20 ties on induction wheels?
Ответитьare tree hollow due age, nutrients or sickness? 🤔
will you test trees close to your buildings?
do you recommend a tire repair goop/pump for emergency repair?
Tesla sold a kit goop/pump kit which is confusing if stock tires have foam?
you must drive like BATMAN
ОтветитьHahaha my original Civic Type R tyres lasted 10,000km Yup 6250miles. So Model Y tyres lasting 30k miles is awesome.
ОтветитьI just replaced original Good Years after 50K miles on 20" Inductions
ОтветитьI just put the Hankook ion Evo tires for my model 3 Performance. Hopefully they will come close to their 50k mileage warranty
ОтветитьThe Michelin Pilot All season lasted 28k Miles on a 235/45/R18 on my Model 3 Performance.
ОтветитьHere in NY my 2023 Y/LR came with Continental ProContact tires that say MS instead of XL (but written out on the tire elsewhere is Extra Load). I had to look it up--> MS = Mud+Snow so I'm waiting to see how it does after a Noreaster.
ОтветитьBuy as4 Michelin. Conti don’t last
ОтветитьHi, can I upgrade my 19 to 21 on a Y long range just swiping them out?
ОтветитьI ended up going with the Sailun EV tires for my Model Y P. They have been great so far and at HALF the cost of the Pirelli’s or Michelins. Yes, I went with the stock size for the staggered set. These Sailun tires have been even more quiet than my stock Pirelli’s and hold the road every bit as well. I only have about 3K miles on these so far but they have been great. The Sailun tires look great and perform exactly as they should. Get them.
ОтветитьThere is a Chinese tire Brand, SIOECHOY, My Chinese friend told me this brand has good tire for Tesla Model Y. With very close quality, But half the price.
ОтветитьPeople keep saying electric vehicles are heavy; the Tesla Model Y weighs about the same as the Ford Edge, for example. Tesla, like any other car, will consume tires based on its driving habits. For Tesla and many other EVs, it's the enormous torque that's mainly responsible for tire consumption.
ОтветитьI'm about to pick up a used Model Y from Hertz, and the stock rims are Destroyed. Smaller, more stylish rims will give the benefit of fatter rubber for a better ride, less curb rash, and cheaper tires. Something people should really consider.
ОтветитьSomeone told me
Tyres on Tesla vehicles can only be changed by Tesla only ? Is that true ?
Just bought new tyres in Australia for my Model Y. I had some new 20" alloys I had bought for my Kona electric which had the same PCD and offset as the Y. For 19" Tesla wheel I only had the OEM Hankook Ventus EVO E3 tyres at $495 AUD ea. or Michelin EV tyres at $550 AUD each to choose from in 255/45R19. Instead I got a set of Delmax Ultra Sport 255/45ZR20 105W fitted for $150 AUD each. A little more road noise and a 5% increase in energy consumption but for a saving of $1400 AUD I couldn't be happier.
Ответитьhey i know this page is for Tesla but does anyone know if you can put 21" regular truck tires on a rivian
ОтветитьOn my 2023 MYP I changed my 21" Uberturbines for 19" Gemini, and fitted Michelin CrossClimate 2.
ОтветитьContinental Procontact RX has tread wear of 400 and Michelin Pilot Sport All season 4 has tread wear of 540 . So, Michelin has higher tread wear as well and that’s why it will last more.
Ответитьbest tires for Model Y - MICHELIN® Pilot Sport A/S 4 (Not recommended for harsh heavy icy winter)
best tires for Model Y ( Winter ) - MICHELIN® X-Ice® Snow (100% recommenced for hard winter location)
It plays out like this. My corolla needs a $100 oil change every 5000 miles, or 2 cents per mile. The corolla tires run about $900 for 50000 miles, or 1.8 cents per mile for a total of 3.8 cents. My model 3 will need a $1200 tire set at 30,000, or 4 cents per mile. So, the additional tire cost is pretty much a wash against oil/tires on my corolla. Savings are on energy costs and brake life.
ОтветитьHey thanks for the video my question is that if I can have on my MYLR 2022 20” induction wheels 255/40R20 can I have on it 26045R20? TIA
ОтветитьWhat about 20 inch with 2 travelors?
