I forgot which video I watched about this (I think it was nick crowley but I’m not certain that thumbnail just looks like the one I remember) that goes into much greater detail of the scene. I think none of them were professional hikers as the guide went home due to illness explaining why none of them knew how to react to hypothermia symptoms (nakedness, cutting open the tent. and running out barefoot). Also the area had a unique wind phenomenon caused by its funnel like shape. I don’t remember the full story but it should be noted that there are fairly believable nonsupernatural explanations for the incident which this short doesn’t really express.

I think they were going down the hill one by one in a 'train' formation to try and keep steady and not loose anyone during the katabatic winds. There is a popular comment here that explains that the deaths must have been started by katabatic wind, which I agree with.

Personally, I think the "injuries" are either embellished or myth. It just comes across as a cautionary tale of folk not being as ready for the hike as they thought. It is tragic, but it happens. The more fanciful the tale, the more intriguing it gets.

The amazing part is missing organs. It's the biggest evidence that it was not just a Natural phenomenon.

One person alone could not have inflicted such terrible injuries on this poor group of hikers. To say they died of hypothermia is a deceitful lie when the injuries were so horrific. Someone knows the truth and hopefully one day it will be revealed.

they were all walking together in a organized line but end up in many different places and pretty far away? why would they split up? and if two were heading back to camp why were they not found together? why were they found with injuries relating to fights and a hit from a baton? who were they fighting with and why? did any of the hikers have a baton?
where’s the missing tooth? where’s the tongue? if the bodies under the tree were moved why is the way they were found in accordance with what probably happened (made a fire, possible mental breakdown, climbing the tree, falling, landing on or near the fire, dying. he was found face down which would make sense if he died after falling from the tree so why would someone move him to be face down? why only certain pieces of clothing? when did entries in the journal stop? how do we know they left their tent without any clothes on, why would you sleep (even in shelter) in only underwear if it’s -30° out and storming? wouldn’t experienced hikers like them be prepared at all times for something to happen? what wildlife was present? where’s the blade that cut the tongue out? if an avalanche hit they obviously didn’t die from that if they were spread out all over. do the doctors even know what injuries were post or pre death? or even made days before? how do we know what times or day they died at?

Single file makes sense if any number of conditions were present: Dark, thick fog, deep snow (breaking trail is hard). It's how people travelling in snow usually travel.

The whole expedition was suicidal. Hiking that much distance in the mountains with the russian winter in full force? Couldn't end well.

Some of the missing parts of their bodies could’ve been from cannibalism in a ditch effort to survive?
