this is in my Excercises each morning. id like more videos like this. i love little repetetive licks with alternate picking and legato intertwined a little bit. i hope to see another video with nice looping licks that when played fast sound like magic. your work is appreciated Huge. i hope to seee an exercise going up the scale and turning around and going back down the scale so theres no stops but a constant up and down scale style . im trying to get better with my alternate picking and legato and im trying to find great non-boring excericses like this. Keep rocking brother. i love your style and is impressive seeing your accuracy. when i solo its hard for me to break out of barring 2 strings at the same time if the riff requires your index finger on the same fret of both strings. when i go up the pentatonic pattern i find il have my index finger on a few strings instead of doing it string by string and it ends up leaving too much sustain with this bad habit i created.
ОтветитьAnother video done and dusted. 15 licks. Took a while but in the bag like many more of yours bud.
You're right about John Petrucci chromatic runs.
I bought his VHS video 20 years ago for around $100 mind you and
spent years going over and over his runs trying to get them clearly at 170- 200bpm 🤷
The pentatonic licks you teach however are so useful and work so well with online backing tracks. (Obviously to those who know their basic theory)
The minor pentatonic backings are the ones I normally play to and yeah.... Half the time now I can play though a whole backing track mixing in a heap of the licks you teach mixed in with my on the spot licks and it flows great, with barely a bum note now!! (Helps knowing the modes)
Can't tell you how grateful I am for all your videos!! (Been learning from you for nearly 2 years now while out of work from an injury so yeah..... your videos have been really handy
Thank again mate 👌
Great stuff, thanks 🎸🎸😎👍
Ответитьwhy i just found your channel.. so good vidz.. thanks a lot boss!!!! :)
ОтветитьLove these videos and exercises! Any chance of teaching runs and improv in drop tuning?
ОтветитьRighteous exercises, thanks!
Ответитьdo that until you blue in the face!!! 🤣🤣🤣🤣
ОтветитьMakes perfect sense. Really enjoyed this . You are soooo good. Great inspiration Cameron. I'm getting it ... Your finger speed with smoothness is your key for teaching us the rhythm as you speed up the licks .. my fingers look like yours so I get an extra bonus at watching which I love.. and great narration .
Ответитьohhhh my... 6 months of work!
ОтветитьNot to sound like a smartass but I really do use the spider exercise everyday I play guitar. Only as a warm up tho lol. Works really good to loosen up the fingers helps with left and right hand sync to an extent depending on how you practice them.
ОтветитьTake my subscribe now
ОтветитьKick Asssss Brother !!! Ty for all the great exercises you would have to be a fool if you can't hear these are exactly what you need if you want a fast technique builder. especially if your looking for control at high speed..Ty
ОтветитьLesson Jump , lesson Jump , lesson Jump 😜👍
Ответитьgreat lesson cam! i agree with you i stopped searching for exercises because they were just chromatic and not musical i was looking exactly for something like this!
ОтветитьYou need to come out with a guitar course!
ОтветитьPractice Practice Practice
ОтветитьMy biggest problem when it comes to electric guitars is the flailing, probably stemming from the fact I learned all my hammer-ons and pull-offs on acoustic guitars, and it takes so much more "umpf" to make them sound. I'm finding it very hard to lose the bad habit since I'm still mostly playing acoustic guitars. I'd love to learn this stuff but I'm not sure I can. Great content. Thanks.
ОтветитьThx so much Bro! Your video's have helped my playing a lot.
ОтветитьFantastic
ОтветитьLove it! Will definately improve my solos to go through these and disect them down step by step and then increase the speed.
ОтветитьWhat gauge strings are you using?
ОтветитьStudied classical guitar for 3 years in HS back in the 80s did the segovia scales every day all fingerings, it helped increase my dexterity and ability to navigate the entire fretboard, also taught me his own exercises aside from the regular scales...I'm a firm believer in those, combined with what you teach on your channel with some serious practice daily one would progress incredibly in 6 months time.
Would have been a godsend to have an instructor like you in my town back in 1982
I love finding your previous videos that i haven't seen yet. Lol
ОтветитьCameron, once again thanks for this great and very helpful tutorial. To answer your question: yes I would want more of this! I have a question: Anything special picking wise in Ex. 4 (Zakk Wylde)? I'm not sure how I would address it...
ОтветитьCooper,..thanks man,..you’re unlocking multi- doors for my playing , that I overlooked , and you are the finest teacher I’ve seen ,…
ОтветитьHow could anyone question you you are brilliant simples please carry on what your doing so helpful! thanks so much!
ОтветитьTo answer your question: damn near never.
Ответитьthanks mate,i will be lookin forward to this
Ответить@CameronCooper is there any tab for these?
ОтветитьThank you for sharing this knowledge
ОтветитьLove your dexterity people see it as talent a guitarist sees a person who has devoted many hours to learning so everything you are came from a lot of hard work and to that you are now talented.don’t know if you can get better than you are I guess now time to write huh anyway thumbs up on channel.
ОтветитьGreat tutorial: short, simple, and with wide range of styles.
ОтветитьExcellent! One of my fav’s
Ответитьtabs would have been nice aint nobody got time fo that
Ответитьthats a cool mug, i need one lol
ОтветитьI’m in older rocker I used similar exercises to get faster and clean. I tried back in the 80s. Super sure I just age myself. Just getting back into it. Love your videos they’re inspiring. Thanks so much sir
ОтветитьМожешь сыграть несколько liks Gary Moore?
ОтветитьCameron you are literally one of the smoothest most technically advanced guitarist working today , just absolutely amazing skill and perfection
ОтветитьHannon for guitar is a good one the Segovia scales are good there meant to be exercises not to be musical.
ОтветитьI just need to learn how to stretch from 12th fret to the 19th.
ОтветитьThank you for not using delay.
ОтветитьTurn off the TV, your phone, and pick up your Guitars. Play these until your fingers bleed. 🩸
ОтветитьI really like the licks this guy showing us.
ОтветитьWhat string guage do you use???
ОтветитьThe Spider exercise is used when my fingers just don't want to move.
So do it for like a minute or so and then forget it's even a thing lol
Thumbs up if you're trying these!
I wanted to share with you some great exercises that helped me build my technique and still continue to challenge me today. Not claiming these are the best, but these are the main ones that helped me on my way and can definitely be applied to solos of your making. There are many more if you would like to hear them!
