When I started playing Cyberpunk, I was honestly reminded of the times I went to Chicago to visit my family. The ads are everywhere and they pollute the air with their sounds. As someone who has a genuine problem with overstimulation, this game just reminds me of how lucky I am to not have grown up in a major city like Chicago, New York, or Los Angeles.

It’s very odd to blame the ad itself. You’re disassociating the ad/marketing from the products manufacturer almost entirely.

This disassociation is how businesses and corporations get away with stuff. It’s not the business who ok’d the ad or completely created the ad on their own, it’s the ad itself that’s bad.

This shift in responsibility is why nothing is actually accomplished anymore. Murderer? Don’t blame mental health, blame the gun. DUI? Meh sue the bartender for giving you too much alcohol not you drinking too much.

No alternative is offered either. So if you start a business or made a product how would you gain customers without spreading the world of its existence without advertising?
