It's been a while! This episode is wall-to-wall filled with animations, which took us ages to produce with such a tiny team. Part 2 will be no different! So there may be other 'shorter' episodes released on the channel before Part 2 and we apologize for that. We have no choice as we can't afford another massive delay between episodes. If you'd like to see Canadiana more consistent please consider checking out our Patreon, it's what keeps the series going.
Thank you for watching and for your patience!
Audio: We have noticed some variance in terms of the audio mix between different devices, if you have headphones, that is the best way to listen!
Whoops sorry about the kidnapping and forced conscription. My great, great, great, grandpa fought for the north and his father was Canadian. I might have to double check that story now.
ОтветитьThese episodes may be a ton of work, but the effort and passion really show. Extremely well done!!
ОтветитьI guess Canada will never join us after all 😔
ОтветитьA professional production. Learned a lot. Thanks for making these videos.
ОтветитьThe raid on Harper's Ferry was no failure, the civil war broke out in earnest only ~12 months later. As a half Canadian, I am glad to know that Canada is up there, keeping America honest. P. S Canada, can we please have some more help with MAGA? They are our greatest threat to freedom in America, today ... Thanks ...
ОтветитьUnderstood nothin
ОтветитьWell made high quality documentary. Also have to apploud you for great pacing. None of the annoying slowness of traditional documentaries with filler interviews. Thw story is in the focus and we appreciate it lots.
ОтветитьDon't forget that the first man to die in the raid on Harper's Ferry, was a freed black man shot by John Brown.
ОтветитьThis is a wonderfully produced and exciting documentary. My only complaint is that the narrator, when on screen, breaks out into an absurd little lurch, as if a he thinks he needs to sprint off screen before the director yells cut. It's downright humorous and really undercuts the ethos of the remarkable story he's telling.
Seriously, just standing still for the cut, or at least don't increase your walking pace when you end the paragraph for each take. You look like a toddler 😆. Just hold the pose. It will look so much more professional.
In some alternet history, America and Canada absolutely invade each other, scarring the land forever
ОтветитьClarissa is humble and listens to vets…that’s why she dominates these women.
ОтветитьTop notch editing and narration.
ОтветитьAi is a hell of a thing
ОтветитьSuspect
ОтветитьGreat documentary remembering the brave men and women that fought for Canada and the abolishment of slavery. Our history is an inherent part of who we are today as Canadians and should not be forgotten or changed.
ОтветитьThe annexation of Canada is a matter of when not if.
ОтветитьThis is a master class historical video essay that definitely earned my like and sub. Love to our brothers in the North from Texas
ОтветитьTop tier content here....glad to be among the aware!
ОтветитьThis is really interesting, & remarkable history. The US Civil War was one of the most tragic, & horrific events in American & all of North American history. It was also the most important military war, & political-economic conflict in US history as well. I always say the French & Indian War (7 Years War) fueled the later rebel movement which became the noble War for American Independence with the Founding Fathers, & other conflicts followed. But the US Civil War was absolutely the most epic, & most important, even more important for US citizens than the two World Wars as brutal as they both were.
ОтветитьMake america native again
ОтветитьGood production. Fascinating!
ОтветитьSince 40 year of my living life, I always said tat true history of any part of world is false built to shape minds if not to to brainwash students. My Canadian historical past was mostly left in the dark, and it took me several years to uncover the real story of my country, and yet I am far from the reality of it!
ОтветитьYou should have mentioned the Quebec Acts which is why the Canadians remained loyal to George III.
Why didn’t you call it what it was - The Trent Affair
The Revolution made Canada.
ОтветитьIs this animation AI generated?
ОтветитьI think the War on Drugs overtook the Civil War as biggest war on this continent in about 1994. Although one could see it as Civil War 2, so hey.
ОтветитьSo in texas, fun fact the governor of the state at the time of the succession was Sam houston. Former president of the Republic of texas. He did not agree with the succession because he said I have spent all my life to bring Texas into the union and now you are going to take us out. 1/3 of Texas were abolition😂ist, 1/3 or neutral, 1/3 were Unionist. To this day we don't really know what happened. But Texas chose to join the Confederacy because if not, we would have immediately been invaded by the Confederacy. It was wrong then, it was wrong now
ОтветитьAs an American from MI I loved this video, definitely helped me learn more about our cousins across the Detroit river
ОтветитьVery well done! video. Stopping the people's Keystone pipeline, will be our both downfall.
If oil is going to be ban in 5 years. Why, is American government, still starting battles in the middle east over oil.
Wow! Thank You so much for this!
👍🏽👍🏽
Canada is no longer like this, as more and more east Europeans and Italians as well as other Slavic whites moved here, it is now no different than America.
ОтветитьThe American Civil War did not directly make Canada, but it indirectly influenced Canada's development. During the Civil War, Canada experienced an economic boom due to increased trade and British investment. Additionally, some Confederate expatriates moved to Canada, contributing to its cultural and economic growth. However, Canada's formation as a nation was a gradual process, and factors like Confederation in 1867 played a more direct role.
ОтветитьWell done. Great presentation!
ОтветитьBut Canada does not exist
ОтветитьThis was very, very well done. Did you guys use any AI for the graphics?
ОтветитьI am lucky to find you!
ОтветитьTake over Canada to free Ireland… I like it!!!
Canada would be better off American territory if we’re being honest. Also super ironic way to get Irish independence.
So Canada cause the civil war??? Great put it on their tab!!!
ОтветитьAmericans didn’t turn against Americans be ‘American’ wasn’t a thing. Nobody said ‘I’m American’.
lol and you fancy yourself an historian yet you fudge up such a simple detail.
Blessed to be neighbors with Canada . I live and work in Vegas . I see lots of Canadians and all of them are just great people at least those ive met. Alwayss friendly and kind.
ОтветитьThe AI images were distracting from the good history lesson
ОтветитьExcellent video!
ОтветитьSo much propaganda
ОтветитьI don't know what Stops US from merging with Canada, literally the same culture, people and language, if US and Canada United, then I don't think even china will be able to match their strength in coming 5-7 decades
ОтветитьCanada made itself.
ОтветитьThe last time Canada was it's own country and not just an American puppet state. We used their eugenics on natives before they sold the teachings to the Germans. Hid their Nazis post WW2. Allowed their German developed red scare propaganda to destroy our unions and socialized interests. Allowed them to influence our economy, our news, our key infrastructure is controlled by America now. Small business is destroyed thanks to American corporations and their consumerist dogma. Their fetishization of privatization destroyed our housing market. We fight their wars as 'peace keepers' we take bad trade deals to benefit them. Shame the Civil War was the last time Canada was it's own country.
ОтветитьIam pretty sure USA was scared of British, USA they just fought for independence from Brit’s imagine if they decided to take back the 13 colonies they didn’t want British forces in North America!
ОтветитьThis video is brilliant on so many levels. Thank you all for doing what you do.
ОтветитьGreat video! And, wow, the animations are incredible! Do y'all do those inhouse? Or where/with who? Thanks!
