as a harmonica player im really looking foward to try this in a future i was going to get an audio interface for my harp blaster and ive wanted pedal and uve stumbuled around this and now that i see you guys use it i want it i could add external harmonicas pedal but i dont need too with this i could make my own pedals nice

I just got one of these, given to me to review. I would put it up against the HeadRush MX5 that I own any day of the week. The HeadRush isn’t bad, but requires a lot of tweaking to get it to sound good. The presets it ships with are all pretty much deletable garbage. You can play the Valeton GP-200 straight out of the box and find usable presets straight away. For around $250, the Valeton just has so many positives. I thought I would like the touchscreen on the MX5, but it sucks having to dig around to find the most used settings, whereas on the GP-200, they are knobs right on the front! Actual, full sized Balanced XLR’s on board, A modern USB-C port rather than the silly USB-B connector from 20 years ago… And on and on. I had written the thing off without ever trying it because I thought it was too cheap to be worth my time, but holy-cow is this thing an amazing bargain! I think they set the price way too low for all that you get. I want to see these folks put out a high-end, top of the line model, because if this is any indication of what can be done in DSP these days, it would have to be freaking amazing!

I’m an old caveman that just took out his Roland VS-840 to start recording my rocking kids. If I actually understand how to use it with this quick demo I’m sure that anyone with a 1/4 of a brain can figure it out too. I barely know how to download apps on my phone 🤣

My daughter is KILLING IT on the drums, so is there a way I can record her drums so she can play piano and saxophone to help her record her stuff. Son is the guitarist so this is mainly for him but I figured my princess can use it too.

Quite frankly all I can do is stare at my VS-840, then stare at the Bible size instructional manual and get really down on myself bc I can’t remember how to use it. It’s been 25 to 30 years ago since I last used it 😞

Sorry for long message but if anyone knows something I can use to record her drums I would REALLY appreciate it. Obviously I would have to get mics needed for it.

stomp boxes?

Show the quality of the effects etc...

Most of the time reviews about these multi effects units are only about the amp sims...

But I think a lot of people are interested usings these units as effect only...with a amp they already got or maybe with Tonex etc .

Can I turn off the amp/cab models for specific outputs
or send my guitar directly to an output with no amp modeling applied at all?

Don't you just love how elitist pricks like these two like to bash on equipment based purely on price? I'm pretty sure that if they gave them the same modeller and told them it was $1500, they would have praised it beyond the limits of ridicule.

@Andertons Music. Love your videos. I just bought the Valetone GP-200 and was wondering if you have any videos on how to set it up to record in your D.A.W.? What set ups work for that i.e. XLR or USB? DO YOU NEED TO GO THROUGH VALETONE SOFTWARE ON COMPUTER? ALL NEW TO ME. Any advice would be greatly appreciated. I use Studio One software and am a recent convert from 4trk cassette recording.

I've been through countless test videos and returned a $600 touch screen does it all disaster all the reviews worshiped from whatever other brand at the time. This is the best sounding unit I have heard and I'm not a fan of monstrous floor units. I own one, it's spectacular but a nightmare to program by hand vs USB, and I bought it at 50% off so I couldn't pass it up.
The "budget" level models with an expression pedal are more than enough considering how much gear most of us already own.
I play 2-hand touch, instrumentals and am a shredder.
I also have a formal education in subatomic physics and engineering, aka electrical/electronics engineering lol.
My standards are far above elite and gear snob lol.

Love the unit but this constantly blinking tap tempo switch is killing me. Do you know if there's a way to turn that off or set it to solid light?

I think the Boss GT1000 Core is biggest bang for the buck in multi pedals... Picked mine up new on Amazon for $450... No beating that price for what's crammed into it...

Sounds pretty good. I feel like the gain patches have too much gain on them. I haven’t heard too many great low gain settings.

PODHD500X has an elevated rear row of switches for that 'no-accidental' purpose. That unit sounds great though.

Does anyone know if the valeton should be rain in amps fx loop or just go in front input? Iv heard some multi fx pedals can cause damage if ran in an fx loop?

Stupid question here: is this an actual amp that I can plug directly into my computer with its studio monitors or do I need to use my amplifier between?

GP-200 is at most mediocre in the sound department. I don't know how can you make so dull 24-bit sounds? Otherwise it has a great interface and punch of cool features. Please Valeton. Make firmware update and let the product shine!

I picked up a GP200R about three months ago to replace a 15-year-old Digitech RP1000...ZERO regrets. Solid build, fantastic tone, easy to mod in the editing software, and takes up FAR less space on my pedalboard.

I have the GP100 and it's pretty poor and very noisy. Check it out in person before you pull the trigger.

What a great Multi FX Pedal and extensive review. You guys ever try the NUX MG 30? It's in a similar price range. I think it's actually cheaper but it sounds awesome. it does take some tweaking to get the best out of it though. It would be so cool if you guys tried it out and reviewed it.

How do you download patches, every time I try the software crashes. Yea! VALETON! Buyers beware. I sent mine back because it would not download firmware.
