This is exactly why there is no such thing as justice in america. Prosecutors don't care about dtopping crime, they care about their success rate in court. They don't care if you're innocent, it's their job to prove you aren't. They will protect crooked cops to do it too. Both of these people should spend time in jail for lying to the judge.

Okay, reality moment. Evidence can't be offered to a judge at an arraignment. If anything the prosecutor and defense attorney would convene and relay there being exculpatory evidence. It's up to the prosecutor to decide if he/she will proceed. If so, the defendant can only offer a pleading or no contest.

Reality makes for a less entertaining show.

There is no way the video footage could be brought up like this. There is an entire thing with court called "Discovery" where both parties have to find all the information and provide it to the other party. If one party brought up information that was not in discovery that alone is grounds for a mistrial, and the lawyer would get in BIG trouble for doing so!

Unfortunately, this, this is not the way things usually go down. Our legal system is rigged. Poor people can't afford a lawyer. They have to be defended by a public defender who is buried by hundreds of cases and in many cases doesn't even know your name while the prosecution is Afforded leeway because they're officers of the court

It's very much a stark reality that COPS LIE!!!! They abuse the privilege and violate a civilians rights only to appease their superiors and mostly themselves.

No way a defense attorney takes a plea when there's evidence to rebut a lying officer's testimony and exonerate his client. Furthermore, said evidence being admitted would likely serve as a foundation to file suit against the officer, the law enforcement agency and the city for a civil rights violation.
