You found some great stuff!
ОтветитьHey George, good to hear people are out selling again. You really got some nice Hardware and tools. Those $6 flats were a great bargain for sure. Those tables are a great buy. I know those will sell quick once you put the magic to them. Nice Job Brother! Stay cool!😎
ОтветитьNice haul George don't throw the baby out with the bath water on that 1/4 inch set it looks rough but I know you'll make it shine again thanks for sharing brother take care
ОтветитьI think that my favorites are the Proto adjustable wrenches. I have been collecting my tools since about 1970, and I don't own a decent 4" adjustable wrench. I quit buying loose sockets many years ago, only purchasing complete sets. I started out with mismatched tools due to my need to economize. I still own some mismatched sets, but seldom use any of them anymore. I can see the value of picking up the socket flats if you are trying to complete any of the premium brand sets.
I drove 3 hours last week to score on some nearly new Matco and Cornwell. A young heavy equipment mechanic got promoted into the office and he was unloading some high end tools. I wanted some of his specialty tools. I gave $310 for about $1.5k almost new condition tools. I left his Snap-On, because I just don't need what he had for sale. It was painful to do so. Current list on one hammer that I have wanted for 20 years is $305. It was a foolishly long drive, but I passed some special scenery about halfway that I had never seen. I took my wife and daughter the same halfway route two days later just so my daughter could see it.
My purchases went straight to the tool chests, no restoration required. They are user tools. I am generally not a big fan of Matco or Cornwell, but they do hit winners, and I think that all if this purchase is in that category. I have been buying unused, but in the used market, Matco as my retirement demands don't seem to always justify the Snappy tools. A local flipper gets trade school culls from students that drop out, usually never opening tool packaging. I buy from him fairly often I keep what I want, but gift a lot of it to sons and grandsons..
ОтветитьAre those SK screwdrivers along your workbench? If so what ones are you missing if any?
ОтветитьWow! That was a great haul Super George! I think my favorite has to be the large Littletown vise only because i haven't ever seen one. Those flats full of sockets and hardware were an awesome find. They gave those away.
ОтветитьYou had A great haul!! I love those Little boxes as well. If its not rusted through you can do so much with them. I had one i turned into a dart case years age. I sold it for alot more than i had in it. Have a great week and keep cool!!
ОтветитьI like the DUNLAP vise , I have several DUNLAP tools
Ответитьi keep all the nuts, washers and bolts i find...as you know, they are like a dollar or two for just a few of them at the hardware store and they never seem to have the size i need when I waste the better part of an hour plus $5 in gas just getting there....mind you, i still can't find the ones i have gathered as they are all mixed up in 5 gallon buckets.. :)
ОтветитьGreat haul. Love the Diamond F wrench!
ОтветитьI see You still have not spoken to anyone professionally About your addiction But I do get it At least It wasn't 5 It was only 2 I have to admit I did like that perfect handle wrench But My favorite is the little quarter " drive rusty socket set i would have drop in To the evaporate
Keep the faith Brother and keep rocking and crabbing !!
Great stuff! The HD monkey wrench!!!
ОтветитьGreat haul, every item was cool, but for me, the box's of bolts and washers were the best find at that price.
ОтветитьTerrific haul. If i could be there I would be happy to volunteer and help you sort through and organize rhose sockets. The other day i rummaged through a big jumble of (mostly cheap foreign) tools in the $1 box at my favorite junk mall. It took time but eventually I came away with an almost complete set of Easco wrenches in excellent condition. You came home with many nice finds. Those Lane end tables look like they mainly need the tops refinished. Still look sturdy. Greats finds this week.
ОтветитьHi George. Those side tables are nice, and I really like the little rusty socket sets. What a great deal on all the flats of sockets! You did good my friend!
ОтветитьAwesome haul. Diamonds are always my favorite. I'm originally from Minnesota.
Ответитьlove the tables! You are so lucky!
Ответитьside tables for sure, but just my opinion
ОтветитьThe weather broke they were out selling and you were out buying. A perfect match. You got some great bargains. Same thing here with the good weather and bargains.
ОтветитьI agree with you about the adjustable wrench, I'm with the masses about the Dunlap vise, thing it's got a lot of appeal to it. Great find with the tables, once restored, that'll buy a load of tools, or you could take the family out for a break somewhere nice?
ОтветитьGreat day, lots of cool tools, but those tables rule.
ОтветитьHardware is stupid expensive at the big box stores. I always grab it too, when I see it. That was a score.
ОтветитьGreat stuff. Good for you. Nice prices.
ОтветитьWhat a great deal on the hardware, I would not have been able to pass that up!
ОтветитьNice haul George!
ОтветитьHey George, looks like you can't have enough hardware😅. The sockets are a neat find, but the vice is cool also. Can't wait to see the wrench cleaned up and you definitely scored well this week. Thanks again and see you next time.
ОтветитьHey Geaorge, like to see that rusted ratchet set cleane when you can! Great video!
ОтветитьThat HD Smith find is awesome!🛠
ОтветитьSome fantasric scores for sure. I love going through loaded tool boxes so those sockets are right up my alley. I had no idea about those end tables.
ОтветитьYour prices are amazing where you live.
$3 for each box of sockets... way better than here in southwest Michigan.
Looking forward to seeing your next project.
Have a Jesus filled day everyone
Greg in Michigan
Lots of great stuff. Thanks for sharing with us, it looks like you were having lots of fun. Have a great week.
ОтветитьGreat finds
ОтветитьScreaming deal on the Lane tables.
ОтветитьSome amazing finds there! Hard to pick amongst those gems but I think my favorites were the small Wescott and Proto wrenches. That pair of Diamond snap ring pliers are awesome too. Spectacular finds and wow what deals—way to go George!
ОтветитьOH MY GOSH George What tool find you made!!! Wow!
ОтветитьHey! from a new Canadian subscriber! I'll be interested to see what you do with those tables. 🇨🇦
ОтветитьFantastic tools love the two vices Thanks George for sharing your time great video 🍺🍺👍👍
ОтветитьSuggestion from prior experience. Find a fab shop or vendor that you can get a piece of sheet stainless that matches the dimensions of the top of the Armstrong box, then drill each corner and pop rivet each corner of the stainless to the top of the box. Strip and paint the box, (sticker and all) then see of you can find an appropriately sized Armstrong sticker and either apply it to the new stainless top, or the under side of the lid. I think you will like the results.
ОтветитьYou scored big time young man, that Armstrong wrench, I believe I have a big brother to it in my stash of waiting to be worked on tools, I would have go dig it out to make sure, I’ve had it for 3years now, I kind of forget what I have after a period of time😮😊!!!! Surprise🙄 thanks for the update, enjoy watching
ОтветитьStill loving to see what you got, and hear what you paid!!!!! So cool!!
ОтветитьAre you from south western Pa? I’m trying to place the accent
ОтветитьIt’s like you broke into my garage when I wasn’t home! 😏
You weren’t kidding about finding the crusty stuff either! 😂
Good scores my friend! 🔥

ОтветитьPut a little dot 3 brake fluid on a rag and rub the paint on that Lane table. You might be amazed. Do not refinish them. Patina freaks everywhere will pay up for that. Where are you generally. Had 5 vices stolen. Not to mention a 44" Waterloo top box. Logistics of buying from you is the reason I'm asking. I'm in Louisiana.
ОтветитьWhat a great find. What state are you in. Can’t wait for my flea markets to open here in VA
ОтветитьWhat a great find. What state are you in. Can’t wait for my flea markets to open here in VA. The H D Smith is so fricking awesome. Great condition
ОтветитьHi there George!!! I’m a complete novice at restoring tools but I have been using vibratory tumblers to remove rust. I use small ceramic pieces of various sizes and shapes and in a few hours the tools look great!! I have done several hammers and axes and rebuilt the handles. I find it to be a relaxing and rewarding hobby. I have a similar process to restore old pocket knives as well. Thanks for sharing your videos with us… your enthusiasm is contagious!!!
