I’ve done this! It’s a marathon not a sprint, and bring gear! Yes, it’s annoying to hook and unhook your biners, but TRUST ME. You’ll want that added security. Don’t let others judge you.

All you need is a climbing harness, with two lanyards and carabiners on your dominant hand side. Hook both up, and attach and detach as needed. You’ll always have a biner holding you that way.
