I'm an hour and half in and I just don't understand ALL the criticism especially by people who haven't even played the game.
For me the graphics look equal to ACO. The combat choices are different.
Because I don't like/ play first person or shooter games my choices are limited. Going off the trailer, which I thought looked interesting and different I ordered a hard copy.
Seems to me there are a whole lot of haters out there, and what's with all this 'woke' stuff anyway?
Why haven't I seen ANYONE complaining about the let down on PS5, now PS5 pro is coming out with supposedly all things they told us PS5 would do. PS5 was supposed to play 60fps but doesn't, now we're supposed to buy the pro to get 60fps, I'm not believing it. Not only that but we only got a handful like 5 or 6 games for PS5! But I digress, I'm not judging this game before I play it.
Thanks to everyone's complaining about the new Ghost of Yotiei for changing the protagonist the only thing complaining achieved was getting the game pushed back to 26😨 Jins story was complete, the new ghost story is a whole different time period, it would not have made ANY sense to use Jin again. Everyone loved Ghost of Tushima, what made people think they wouldn't also love Ghost of Yotiei? I think gamers are just becoming too critical overall.

Woke is a pretty abused word.

I’ve watched first 20 min. of game. It’s kinda average as it goes. Average graphics, not impressive soundscape.

Stupid enemies with not very good combat animations. Basic stealth. What looks like spirit vs tech story. Protagonist who is killing enemies with zero regret.

I don’t know if it’s “woke” or something, but it is definitely not a game that captures you from the beginning. I know, it’s a very long tutorial, but still, I can name tens of games that made tutorial interesting or respected gamers enough to not incorporate it in gameplay at all beyond game specifics.

Moment of BBEG reveal. Ok, he is white dude, I can roll with that. But it looks like he has some point that they’ve just boiled down to power hungry. Something about world dying and Quaestors failing in their ways. But of course “there is another way”. Which Reika never taught him.

We need a skin mod.

is this really a ps5, like i don't want to sound like a dick. But this shit look fucking terrible and i know for a fact it its not my pc.

This game is such a fascinating mess. I’ll admit the lore is actually interesting, the combat has some cool ideas but poor execution, the graphics can be both decent but the faces on characters look ridiculously outdated.
But what gets it is the writing. Having the mc just show up 4 years later and start girl bossing her way around just doesn’t feel earned. Right from that point on, there is such a disconnect.
At least with let’s say, the tomb raider reboots, you had Lara go through this absolutely harrowing experience so when she is a bonafide badass in the the second and third games it’s understandable.
This game is forspoken 2.0. A potentially ok game brought down by generic looking gameplay, horrid facial animation, and atrocious writing.
They will be blaming us for the failure of the game by the end of the week.
