COMMERCIAL AIRPLANES NEED MORE THAN 2 PEOPLE IN THE COCKPIT. SO MANY STORIES WHEN OFFICER IS READING THE CHECKLIST BOOK NO ONE IS PAYING ATTENTION TO THE PLANE CONTROLS. ONE PERSON DRIVES A TRUCK. SURELY MORE THAN 2 PEOPLE NEEDED IN A PLANE WITH HUNDREDS OF LIVES

Wow. Fireworks outside the aircraft, smoke inside, all 4 engines failed, gliding back down to FL120, relighting 3 out of 4 engines, Co pilot struck with hypoxia, fogged up windshield and a perfect touchdown. Looks like the crew saw their entire careers, simulations, crisis management, CRM etc. all in this one single flight. But it's hats off to the amazing level of knowledge the captain had not only of his airplane but of aerodynamics as well and kudos to how tactfully the captain and crew managed all the situations so well despite being under pressure of being so close to total disaster. Amazing is the word. Never heard of this incident. Oh and yes, your narration was fantastic. The chronology and voice inflections that you used kept me captivated throughout the 36mins of the story. Subbed to the channel.

"Click Bait" title. Airplanes that lose all of their engines don't "Freefall". They can glide, a controlled decent.

May be a dumb question but how exactly does vulcanic ash cause failure of an engine? Arent engines supposed to withstand a specific amount of matter intake (birds, particulate matter, smoke ...) or give a warning when heating up to much?

Guys flight number show that how many time that flight happened? For example flight 541. In here 541 show that that plane flight from this city to that city 541 time? Or this is that plane’s 541th flight. Locations is not important?

Many years ago I visited RR at Derby (at the time I was working at one of the RR sites in the north east) and got the obligatory tour of the engine assembly shop. At one point I was shown an engine on display - it was one of the engines from a plane that had an all-engine failure after flying through volcanic ash and had been the first one to restart, so I'm guessing it was engine 4 from this plane. Spooky that I should find this video all these years later!

A good Leader also demands recognition of his explemary crew. I love the fact that this wonderful crew made this a surviveable incident. There is no single Hero when a team does whatever they can to avoid disaster. Teamwork always equals success, unless the situation is that success is not possible. It's the measure of being a strong human
