The Canis Major Dwarf Galaxy is a small, irregular galaxy located about 25,000 light-years away from Earth.

It is the closest known galaxy to the Milky Way and is slowly being pulled apart by our galaxy's gravity.

Discovered in 2003, this galaxy is rich in stars and is thought to be merging with the Milky Way, contributing stars to its outer regions.
