This was low grade confusing.

I'm on the more conservative side of the dancing spectrum on this argument but I honestly didn't feel this whole interaction was persuasive enough to say 'Dancing in Church Is Not Biblical'. A better title might have been, 'Todd and Voddie talk about dancing in church.'

The headline and the video don’t remotely match. The headline and still of the video suggest that this video shows that dancing in church isn’t biblical, but it doesn’t remotely do that. All it does is say that this verse about David can’t be used in a prescriptive way to say that we should all be doing what David did.

If you want to be taken seriously be more honest with your video headlines!!!

I swear todays preachers like MacArthur, Bauchem, Petersburg and washer are doing nothing but perverting the gospel. At my church we have a female preach, not the official preacher but a stand by. We have dancing and we love it, by the way it’s not twerking or lap dancing 🤦‍♂️🤦‍♂️.Thank god I’m a Pentecostal.

Sometimes I'm pleasantly surprised by your content. I often run into videos with taglines like this, and if I click on it I either get a "CHRISTIANS SHOULD NEVER!" or "Yes, all Christians should" type of video. I love that recognizing what the verse does and doesn't say is the first priority. However, I love that it wasn't outright condemned or approved. I find with so many of these issues you can't really take a NO or a YES position. So often the answer should be, "it depends". There's a danger in so many things we do as Christians, and dancing would be a great example. Two people could dance in church, one can be doing it because they are experiencing the joy of the lord in real time, while another is doing it because they're just having a good time (the same as they might at a concert). One is good and possibly appropriate (depending on a bunch of factors) while the other would always be inappropriate, and the only difference between the two is happening in the heart.

I judged a lady for dancing at a conference one time. I've been convicted ever since. I don't have the ability to see into another persons soul when it comes to where this expression comes from. For all I know maybe she had just overcome the worse and was so full of gratitude she couldn't stop herself even if she wanted to. If the bible stated there is to be no dancing in "church" it may be different, but I think it's unwise to take the position that dancing is not allowed. I respect biblical preachers but they can't see into another persons soul anymore than anyone else.

It's not the dancing part that God hates.

It's the part where you are "going to church" and getting deceived by wolves in sheep's clothing every week that God hates.

Can we dance in church? Sure..but the Bible doesn’t prescribe it as far as church order. But we cannot use this verse to justify dancing in church.

As long as the dancing isn’t sexual or to show off I see nothing wrong with it.

There is a king (Jesus ) There is a ark (Gods spirit/presence in our hearts) that enough to dance and rejoice

David wasn't in church, but he sure as heck wasn't alone. Thousands of people could see him, just like in, say, a church.

As someone who goes to a non denominational church that’s really Pentecostal, I whole heartedly agree with Voddie’s explanation of this.

Voddie doesn't believe in healing but when he got sick in the hospital about to die he was requesting prayer ..for what ?

When I come before the Lord on judgement day the last thing I'm going to be worried about is if I danced in church

Its really sad to see so many Christians arguing over this and believing we can know what is in each others hearts.

Its also sad that some men are talking about women dancing in church "distracting" them. Just close yours eyes and focus on God. Worship is definitely not about watching other people to see how they worship or what they're going to do.

David danced before the Lord on a road, Miriam and a bunch of other women danced and sang before the Lord on the other side of the Red sea. Okay so these were not churches. Does it matter? I don't see how when the church building is not the temple of God you are!

I'll dance for joy because God redeemed me and set me free! I'll dance because God sees fit to live and dwell inside me. Why should the enemy be allowed to have dance when God is the creator?

The joy of the Lord is my strength is it yours? Does dancing fill you with joy? Do you think it fills God with joy to see you enjoying life and all the things that He has given us?

Be careful not to throw burdens on people that God is not burdening people with. The Pharisees had "justification" for forbidding healing on the sabbath

I attended a charismatic church and they said David danced, so dance in church and dance is worship and then they banned dancing in weddings and they made an exception for 1 girl to have a daddy-daughter dance and nobody else was ever allowed to dance. Why encourage everyone dancing on Sunday morning and totally shun dancing with your father or your spouse at your wedding reception?

We should simply use the scripture as a way to filter our actions as to what we can do or should not do. Where there is no law, there is no transgression.
