FORGET ME NOT - Animation Short Film 2023

As someone who feels like this I cried for 20 minutes or so because it made me realise they tried they’re best trying to be a figure in my life when my sibling needs more support and balance and plus it doesn’t help with twins. 😅

Why do the voice tracks sound echo-y and as if recorded on a low-quality device? And why is the voice acting so blegh and stale? I speak fluent Spanish, in case anyone's wondering, which is why I raised an eyebrow at 'greenhouse' being literally translated as 'casa verde' (green house), when a greenhouse in Spanish is called an 'invernadero'...
Nice animation, but the voice work is distractingly poor... :/ And Ophelia in the Spanish-speaking world is 'Ofelia', by the way.

Well thats sadly the trouble with being the older Sibling and the little one still being a baby...
but yeah, as a child, you feel unwanted or as a burden, because the baby gets all the attention

I came back to rewatch this and it is so underated. The last time I watched I didn't really think about the time and effort but now I really appreciate the backgrounds and fluidity and music. This is such a great film and I'm excited for the future

This short film explains about the Sibling thoughts.
The centre of attraction is on the younger one, no one loves me any more thinks the elder.
This Phase is to be handled by parents carefully.

All I hear when watching this if anything optimistic happens something goes “no they don’t”

Dad's a single parent. His strictness is because he doesn't want to parentified Ophella, but he does need her to be more understanding that he's only one person trying to do the job of two people. And her sister isn't old enough or able enough to do things on her own yet, meaning that she needs him in ways Ophella doesn't anymore (feeding, walking, all things babies can't do on their own). Still Ophella's young and doesn't understand just yet. Finding the lost boy and his missing poster helped her gain that understanding, especially when she reunited with her father and sister and seeing how they both were worried about her.

Seems the lost boy was in a similar situation to her: single parent household with siblings. Only instead of being the oldest child, he's one of the middle children. Mom's no doubt even more busy then Ophella's dad and middle children often feel like the oddballs because they are neither the responsible elders nor the needy youngest. And Mom must have a harder time splitting her attention between five kids: the majority of which are boys.

que hermoso proyecto !!! me encantaron todos los pequeños detalles—como llamar a la niña ‘ofelia’ (porque ofelia muere ahogada porque sentía que su familia (laertes, polonio, hamlet) no la quería y solo la manipulaba), las flores llamadas ‘forget me nots’ que si se traduce sería ‘no me olvides’, las voces, los fondos, la animación, increíble !!!! una de mis animaciones favoritas <3

i saw this in my recommended. this is probably my favorite indie short film of the year. it’s so cool seeing the fluid motions and the well thought story. feels like a breath of fresh air tbh. very cool!
