Baldur's Gate 3 | Increase FPS by 80% - Performance Optimization Guide + Optimized Settings

Did all of that and still get only about 70ish fps on act 2, rig is a 3070 r5 5600x btw, also i have this weird thing that everytime i go into a dialogue the game just stutters like crazy for a couple seconds then back to normal, no fix yet sadly, tried pretty much everything i could think of.

For some reason settings dont change my fps much and I have a 4070 with a r7 3700x and get 60-75 fps max. It's getting extremely frustrating trying to increase fps (I'm playing at 1440p on an ultrawide 144hz monitor. I cant play at 1080p bc it's not even an option in the game since there's no exact scaling 😞)

Just flick everything to "Medium" and you get pretty much the same results with negligible differences.
Now, try get this 80% FPS boost in Act 3.... I'll wait.

And if i have potato pc?

lmao this is such a bad test. You are testing in some of the most optimized areas of the game. Once you get out of the starting area, the game falls apart in terms of optimization. Go run your testes in Last Light Inn, or in the Shars temple. smh

Seems like there's a lot of natural variation to consider. Stuff like depth of field is just a simple filter that should have 0 impact on performance. Yet we can see up to 8-10 fps difference appearing randomly in the video

The game runs smoothly for me but in Act 3 Baldur's Gate 3it is horrible and choppy. Sometimes i can't move at all on ultra or high. Probably because there is a way too much things moving and loading in the city.

This is, shockingly, perfectly edited and really useful (no offense, first time here). I loved the way the comparisons were displayed both by sliding off each other and the side-by-side comparisons. Very satisfying to see all of the graphics settings displayed that way in turn. Thank you for putting the work in for this.

Set AF always to x16....there is no significant difference in framerate like in every Game. So even i optimized settings it should be x16.

Awesome Work and detailed comparison, exactly how it needs to be done so everybody can take out what they think is appropiate. Only thing that went kinda "wrong" is the FSR DLSS Native Comparison, there you can cleary see that the FSR AMD Option it totally "oversharpened" and well, it is not, when turn it down. Looks like it was on MAX here, and combined with ASF (Anisotropic Filtering) it is even worse.

Usually you either use the sharpening FSR Filter or ASF, combined they can really "hurt" the realistic sharpening feeling. But besides that, very very good job on this video. I am 3h into the Game, and only killed 3 Baby Devils...because i went through all the options while keeping an eye out on my "GPU Usage" and Wattage :D

I noticed shadows on the ground can look very bad unless set to high. At least in the camp. The floor gets its own bad shadow for some reason
