To clarify you didn't miss the premiere. Just set this live as I don't have time to premiere this week as I'm going to Canada tomorrow
ОтветитьRamen Oysters Kitchen Cocktails
ОтветитьUA seriously? How can you review food if you don't know the fundamentals? That's rosemary, which it why surprise, surprise the drink tastes of rosemary - you expose your lack of knowledge constantly.
ОтветитьI'd not had serious ramen before until I tried Ramen Nagi a few weeks ago and it stunned me. can't go back now
ОтветитьHave had ramen/soba soup where the egg is raw and you cook in soup. Is that more authentic?
ОтветитьIf you're going to Japan somewhere in the future, I recommend these ramen shops:
1. Menya Takahashi (麺屋 髙橋) - Tsukemen with cold noodles in Sapporo
2. IRUCA-Tokyo- Roppongi (入鹿TOKYO 六本木) - Special Yuzu Shio Ramen
3. Ramen Iida Shoten (らぁ麺飯田商店) - Shio Tsukemen, highest ranking ramen shop in all of Japan, in Kanagawa
4. Seijo Seika (成城青果) - Shio Ramen; started in June 2020, yet it was already one of the highest-ranking ramen shops in Tabelog, in Tokyo
5. Ginza Oborzuki (銀座 朧月) - Tsukemen with thick and murky broth
6. Chuukasoba Uemachi (中華そば うえまち) - Has one of the best shoyu ramen in Osaka
7. Dateya (伊達屋) - Shoyu and shio ramen in Fukushima
8. Stamina Ramen Suzuki (元祖スタミナ満点ラーメン すず鬼) - One of the most powerful and punching bowls of ramen in Tokyo
Did you know that Ichiran in Japan are mostly tourists and not locals? I guess tourists come to Ichiran in Japan simply because some or most ramen shops in Japan don't have an English menu, only a Japanese menu, not to mention only text, and no pictures of the ramen whatsoever. Though, Ichiran was only hype, a 4/10 or a 5/10 bowl of ramen, and they're overpriced.
Also, check out Nama Japan or Ramen Guide Japan since they know their stuff, and they have reviews of the ramen they eat.
Nama Japan on Reddit said, "To make a long story short, it started as a tourist thing in Hokkaido, mainly used by the not so great ramen shops there to attract tourists and use a "local ingredient". For some reason, it has spread overseas, just like raw enoki on ramen (different topic, also bad topping).
For me, corn is a terrible ramen topping. It falls to the bottom of the bowl immediately and really does nothing. It's mostly canned corn of "meh" quality as well.
Of course, people can enjoy what they want. But it's sad to see that everyone around the world thinks it's a common ramen topping when in Japan it's mostly a sign of terrible ramen."
Just as a side bar, I know you showed part of the menu from the internet but I wish you would have shown the full menu as you always do. You said it was only QR code but if you would have done your normal scroll down I would have appreciated it.
I also wish you woud have explained the bun a bit more. You said it was Niku but I wish you would have described the flavor and texture. Lastly I wish you have described everything in the ramen. You kind of ran through it and I wish the meat, the type of egg and the hard noodles would have been dedscribes more.
I know I said it was my last thing but I also wanted to know if the broth was fishy or salty and I would have like you to order two main dishes. We also look to you for the cheap menu so I assume they didnt have a prefix which is even more reason for you to show us the full menu. Either way I love your reviews and youve shown me a tooooooooooN of restaurants I could never afford. Thanks for eating for us and keep up the good work
UA clearly doesn't cook. Rosemary is very common in home-cooking basic European recipes
ОтветитьBro uncle Tony’s is still open right around the corner, get their bakers pie. 5⭐️s
ОтветитьYou totally forgot to mention Jin Ramen in West Harlem on W125 St!
ОтветитьSaying that ramen is a Chinese-Japanese food is quite inaccurate. While the word "ramen" does mean noodles in Chinese, and the dish has its roots there, ramen has become a Japanese staple. The Japanese have truly made it their own, with unique toppings, tare, broth... It would be similar to calling pasta a Chinese-Italian dish just because pasta originally came from China
ОтветитьThat didn’t look like a marinated egg, just a hard boiled egg.. also, constructive criticism; spent wayyyyyyy too much time on each useless thing we didn’t need to know again. Hope you see this and hope it can be used in the future
ОтветитьActually fish broth is very common in Japan and a little bit more popular than pork or chicken broth
ОтветитьI love your channel, but sometimes wish you would just eat the food already 😊❤
ОтветитьGentrified Harlem.
ОтветитьAsians and American Indians shouldn’t drink alcohol. Trust me I am one of the two. We just don’t mix well with it
ОтветитьWatching this while eating cheese doritos
ОтветитьGotta check out Manolo tapas in Washington heights their black rice paella is amazing.
Ответить"Japanese think of ramen as chinese japanese fusion" the fuck they do.
ОтветитьOkay, because of this, I’m driving up the west side hwy from midtown just for this . Hope it doesn’t disappoint.
ОтветитьKyoto Cocktails KC Uhm Ramen Nagumi in freehold boro tastee.
Ответитьthe herb that gives off a rosemary flavor and aroma is in fact rosemary! lol
ОтветитьLet me interrupt your negative review with this bowl right here
ОтветитьROKC. The restaurant and cocktail lounge — its name an acronym for ramen, oysters, kitchen and cocktails
ОтветитьIt’s funny that in Japan ramen is cheap fast food but in the U.S. it’s a long dining experience.
ОтветитьU.... that rosemary taste comes from that rosemary sprig. Sometimes, man... 🙄 (But at least you had a real cocktail. Live a bit, my man!)
ОтветитьYou're being nostalgic. The food isn't good enough
ОтветитьArigato
ОтветитьWould you consider going to a local brewery and reviewing their food and a flight of beer? Could be a fun twist
ОтветитьGave the thumbs up for UA ordering a cocktail
ОтветитьI went to their website and scrolled down the front page. It looks like it stands for ‘Ramen Oyster Kitchen Cocktails’… took me longer to write this comment than it did for me to figure that out..
Ответитьlol that’s rosemary 😂
ОтветитьId never go to Harlem, place is wild.
ОтветитьThat Onsen egg was the worst effort I have ever seen!!
If they served that in Tokyo...or London ...they would be laughed out of town!!
If you ever get back to the UK then get in touch.I`ll show you some SICK places!!!!
This place got UA drinking! Has to be a great spot!
ОтветитьGreat video, fyi ramen, oyster, kitchen, cocktail
Ответитьi agree with you about the bao. Just give me bun and pork belly. I do not need the mayo and lettuce
ОтветитьUA love your vids! But you got to get a manicure when doing such close up shots of your hands. All the best brother!
ОтветитьHow can you eat that fish ramen with your shellfish allergies? Welcome to Canada again!
ОтветитьIt's crazy to me how much places are charging for ramen now especially after having been to Japan. Top tier ramen there (incl Michelin starred) is under 6 bucks for a bowl. Here, even mediocre ramen is like $16-20 plus.
Ответитьive never been to a ramon restaurant ever yet
ОтветитьKyoto Cooks 💜
ОтветитьLooks delicious😊
ОтветитьHey UA I really enjoy your preswntation style. I actually work at City College campus. It's great to see reviews of places close to my hood. Thanks for this gem, I'm a huge fan of ramen. Keep it up!
ОтветитьThat place is a hole in the wall?? Come on, you've been to Chinatown, right? (No disrespect, I love holes in walls)
