My first ever smart phone 😭 memories 😭

My S4 has only just after 10 years finally developed a fault, won't recognise sim card. Otherwise works perfect. Did order new old stock S4 off ebay, but needed phone straight away, so bought A34 5g...........should i keep it.........S4 so practical for me, couldn't fault it.

I still think the htc one m7 was the best phone of 2013. It got so many awards but people were focused on samsung and iphone like always

This was my first smart phone i owned and i remeber i got into tec becuase i could play gameboy games off this phone and fell in love with android since i had an iphone for two years and still didnt come close to the S series

S3 LTE was my first real Android phone i ever used. I kinda love it. Reminds me of old college times and god did I love Samsung UI looks (it was slow but sexy srsly)

now gen x are trying to down grade back to old school flip phones the tables have turned my j6a from 2018 didn't change that much camara wise or did the s9

My S3 i got launch day still works okay...its funny that back then it was the cutting edge and the screen seemed huge...watching this on my fold 5 and amazed how far tech has come in a decade. Would be nice if they added back the SD card slot though, these 1tb devices are hella expensive here in Canada

I don't understand why people don't like plastic phones. It's cheaper and more resistant, and I don't think they look bad at all.
About the camera, I think the photos look great. For my basic use of it, I would be perfectly happy with it.
The S3 neo is also way better than the normal edition, I have both and the neo actually feels usable today, especially with the still mainteined LineageOS build for it, while the old variant is a lot slower.
About software updates, even though you got less updates, apps keep supporting old versions of android for way longer than iOS. WhatsApp, for example, still supports Android 4 and the S3, while in iOS it needs iOS 12, which is 6 or 7 years newer. While this is worse than actually providing updates, it's not as bad as it seems.

HTC was also a huge competitor in the phone market in the 2010s

As an iPhone 4/5S user, I find myself wondering what it would have been like using the SIII back in the day. I was too locked in to even think about an alternative.

I used the Galaxy S3 from when it came out in 2012 until 2014. It was the phone that swayed me towards the Samsung/Android ecosystem. Had so much fun with it.

It is hard to believe that Samsung S III is a phone used to break your bank just a decade ago. It feels like it is just yesterday. 10 years ago, I am so envious of people around me who do have it. You look rich for having it back then. It is still useful if you flash it with the latest custom rom cuz it has 4g like many of the newer budget phones. It maybe not a worthy everyday phone today but it can still be useful if you are a lightweight user and want a small but capable smartphone with a removable battery.

Just found my brothers old S3, it was missing the back cover, so I ordered one off Amazon for less than $7, and once it arrives, I'll try to power the phone up, and if all goes well install lineage OS on it.

touchwiz was improved in android 5 and 6, it was much more usable near the end of it's life

I don't care, I'm still using it, its cameras are awesome and I love video filming, it records awesome stereo sound, it's fantastic. But I'd like to install a lighter ROM, it's gettin slower since last 3 years after any OS update when I came to Europe, everything was working amazing before that. Any idea of a good ROM?

Thats such a massive screen! How will people even hold it, I don't think this will even catch on

I am a proud user of samsung s3 to this day.

I just remember android phones from the early 2010s feeling super gimmicky and cheap
And I absolutely despised the UI of android st the time too.

Am I the only one who likes the Samsung IU?! I remember old stock Android was so damn ugly! Samsungs skin looked so much nicer, I loved the more skeumorphistic design. Also it had so many great features. I really miss this phone sometimes. With a custom rom it still would be quite usable. Unfortunately mine got water damaged in 2016.

It's amazing my first proper smartphone was this S3. Loved it until I dropped and cracked the screen I was heartbroken

People always said the software (TouchWiz) was bad. I never understood that - it was FINE. I used it for about year a few years back, even took it on holiday. IT WORKS. Multi window, quick toggles and others that we now have as standard Android, are FROM THIS PHONE.

wow you talk so long.. but compertion iphone 4 was the best I mean that brand holds up weeker brand are samsung which helps a lot to go on market as this days couldn't go so far as apple. We surely know whats the best brand as good not that poor imitation as long as they do. Even huge feature which they provide decs couldn't helps to run from beeing so small ugly cheater which apple suing samsung from. We know best which is the biggest one and which is week but everybody sit in silence to not argue with anybody which is good. But no one suppose good effect from bad actions which we are a witnesses. Also we need undestand bad situations which apple was stand from. I really appreciate good view witch apple established but how it can hold long. If we wouldn't helps they can even confound as well. Hold yours fingers form apple and don't let go. I feel so nostalgic.

My second smart phone and android was galaxy s4, good phone. But then after that was iphone 6s, and never looked back lol

I am actually writing this comment with my old samsung galaxy s iii, using the opera browser. It is slow af, but it is still neat, and it is giving me a nostalgia trip.

Wish Samsung made minis again. But hopefully they keep the storage slot.

I'm having the Galaxy S3, but it's the CDMA version (US Cellular, code name: SCH-R530). I can't find any custom firmware for this model and even can't find ways to change from CMDA to GSM for a suitable network in Vietnam (maybe it doesn't support from the internal hardware:))).
If any one can help me, I'm really happy when hearing that ^^

Memories! This was my first Samsung smartphone. Then Note 2, Note 3, Note 5, Note 8, Note 9, S10 5G, and now S22 Ultra! I can't believe myself why I am so into Samsung smartphones! Haha

Used to have the S3 neo, the first part of the vid was confusing as I didn't recall the phone looking like that till you showed the neo version and it all popped in my head lol

I remember scraping the "metal" paint off the sides of the phone just for it to look all black, how stupid I was😂😂

This is still, to date, my favorite phone of all time!! I switched to iPhone and regret it. My favorite aspects of this phone were small details, like how the red light would blink when I had a text, the button at the bottom for functionality, and the plastic backing. If I could use this phone today, I absolutely would.
