I think you're missing who funds the recycling movement. Cause it's not people who care about recycling. Who benefits from the public thinking that recycling is working?

Good to know. I don’t use a lot of plastic. But now any that I do?? Goes right in the bin!! This whole climate change is a joke!! We hardly had any hurricanes this year! What are the climate ppl saying? I hear nada!!

What they should be doing is planting trees! Cleaning the forests to prevent forest fires! But the greenies hate doing that! The idiots! I plant butterfly bushes in my backyard for the bees and the butterflies to pollinate! And flowers for the bees!! That’s what I do!! And I plant trees in my front and backyard! And I’m not a freaking democrat!!!

It all revolves around money, making people believe plastic is recycled in large percentages. Why not address the problem in full. Reduce, Reuse, Recycle. We all have a responsibility.

Cans at the very least you should if only to avoid people suing them for less, savory reasons, like melting them down to make chemical compounds,

So in brief, what's the point spending money and time in gathering tons of plastic when only a 3% wille be recycled... But, on the other hand, it's beneficial to recycle steel, aluminum, glass and paper because that saves energy (saves money and less carbon)?? 🤔

Stossel is actually right for once. Sadly it’s his political party that supports the oil/plastic industry.

This is the very reason I quit recycling.

What’s amazing to me is watching a street truck pick up the garbage do you know if they have three dispensers recyclable garbage and food well what they do is they dump it all in one and put it all in one spot so the city is not recycling. What’s up with that?

Sheep. Baaaaaa! Something about the arrogance of the folks of the 21st generation who think they are the ones who are so virtuous as to "save" the earth. Yes, we should all be good stewards of our communities. However, when the earth is done, it's because God is burning it up for the new heaven and new earth. Don't believe that? You'll eventually believe it.

The only good recycling is energetic recycling, I.e. burn the stuff.

I bring my own bags each time I shop (to save money), but I notice majority of shoppers just buy new bags each trip. So, who thinks they'll bring empty detergent jugs to refill? Some folks are badly out of touch with reality. Sorry, but you can't FORCE behavior. Some folks will be good, some scatterbrained or indifferent, some bad. I wish we had the answers!

Honestly, I wouldn't mind being able to refill things like liquid soap and other non-perishables . . . that said, however, what would be the logistical and infrastructure costs of such a system?
