Love this! I'm making a few 3d animated shorts which includes my own voice acting as well as mocap and models (ofc downloaded ones will be included since I'm a 1 man band lol), and I'm not worried about it being perfect cause Baldur's gate 3's animation isn't perfect yet it's still an amazing game. Plus again, "one man band" - I just want to get my story across and hopefully the mocap will help it go by quicker😅. I'm not planning on taking a year to make a film but I'm sure as hell down to take a few months if needed. I won't be getting paid for this at all, and I don't even have a mocap suit so I'm going to have to use tho lovely AI mocap software's, and deal with my decent computer for rendering, but so far everything has gone pretty smoothly and my new motto is "work with your limitations, for they open up new opportunities" and they rlly do. I would love a team, and some friends to help, but not a lot of people can say they've made a complete film all by themselves💖

showing the awkwardness of the knight as he walks by the boy, was the funniest thing ever but so true. even in my stop motion animations that happens. in my most recent one, there's a lego man just laying dead on the other side of the set cus i thought i was going to use it, but you never see it

The camera focused so much on the boy it looked like an origin story

48 hours is 2 days and 100 hours is 4 days but 50+50 equals 100 not 48+48 that equals 96 so why is 48 hours 2 days?

Keep in mind you did this with model and environment assets, Imagine having to do this from scratch, modeling, texturing, rigging, and then animating

I thought the original videos message was very clear. To prove it you said screw it and did what you could in 2 days.

For an beginner movie this might be "okay" for 48h. To everyone who knows a bit of 3d animation, the results are very short and bad. Most of the items used are pre props with little to none adjustments.

But if this is a "first timer", it's okay-ish I guess.

Honestly, that would be a next level cutscene in an indie game. Like, not great; but would elevate a small project beyond the typical still images or pixels.

you didnt need one more hour, you needed one more final hour lol. You should have given yourself 2 hours 24 times instead of 48 hours. If one could master that they could master life

avoiding fighting when trying to do things quickly is probably a good idea, fighting is a conversation in itself that takes time to coordinate in a way that feels believable, moreso than a lot of other interaction elements

its pretty decent though! The scene composition is pretty good for something so fast

the story is probably the worst part tbh, since you had to cut out the kind of twist it doesnt read like a story so much as a list of events. Theres no 'but then' moment, though of course you planned a decent one so its just down to time

I think the whole crunch time mentality is real. How many studios have ambitious ideas only to settle for what's an industry standard or even sub par execution.

In all fairness Exporting the final product should not have been a part of the timed segment (although it did create a bit of Drama) simply because it is an idle part of the process where you are no longer "making" anything; like waiting for paint to dry.

Enjoyed it alot, how about revisit this with the new version 8 ??

Given the time span you gave yourself. I think you did really well. It kind of seems like a flashback that would be part of a bigger film. Maybe a film about a soldier this would be a flashback about him being inspired to become a soldier after witnessing a Soldier defeat a monster.
