No it's not too big (personal preference). If your struggling to cast or land a fish on your setup then you probably shouldn't be fishing on the kayak. You're just lacking fishing experience, period. Instead of seeking approval of others just do what's good for you, or are you trying to flex, its just sad.

They make different handles for the ones next to your seat that have the yakattack mounting rail to mount it next to your seat.

I’ve got a helix 8 which is as big as the helix 9. I’m putting it from and center (wilderness systems flex pod location). Heck I’m thinking about getting a second unit for mega 360 and maybe mega live.
