One thing you learn in jail or prison is dont brag or tell your story, especially if you havent been charged for it yet. Jail house snitches every where trying to get that time cut. Wonder why he was the only one executed when there was three of them. He was an officer too. Always interesting to watch. Great video

Thanks for covering this important case. The Supreme Court made it nearly impossible to demonstrate racial discrimination when sentencing for the death penalty (despite detailed statistical evidence) and this ruling has undermined public confidence, in abolitionist circles, in judicial fairness.

Two aspects didn't help Mccleskey. He didn't present mitigating evidence at trial, which is never a good idea in front of a jury. Secondly, he killed a police officer, an act I sense is even more culpable than killing a civilian. Not many defendants would escape death in that situation in a death-penalty state.

That's surely cruel to strap someone into the electric chair and then un-strap take them back to the cell and then return and strap them back into the electric chair.
This entire process takes far too long. I'm not against the death penalty I'm sure if anyone I loved was murdered I'd 100% want them to be put to death but promptly.

I'm not opposed to the Death Penalty, I'm just opposed to some of the methods used to carry it out. The electric chair is just a fast way to burn people alive and hanging has no place in the Space Age.
