New to owning a Brooks saddle. What does tension do? Would my bum know the difference right away?

I've got one of those saddle covers. Very nice, but not waterproof. I always put a thin plastic bag under it. Proofide is a fine treatment... I've been riding a Brooks Pro that I bought in the mid 70's. Still doing great, although with some cracks around the rivets.

I still have no idea how much my saddle needs to be tensioned to not be over spanned and also I feel like the nose might have always been on a tiny bit sideway. Is this a problem?

What tool can I use instead? I am the fourth owner of my Pashley; it didn’t come with any tools for the the Brook seat.

Why is it that in this official, Brooks England video, they say to leave the proofide on for "...a few minutes...", but on the Brooks website care instructions ("Services" > "Product Care"), they say: "Leave on for a minimum of one hour and allow it to penetrate through the surface"?

Very beautiful, but sadly poor quality... saddle will rust in no time.... I can’t recommend

Leather "proof", What? this stuff is just Sedgwick's leather conditioner. That's also way too little conditioner to do anything for a wax based conditioner.

Anyone knows how often to apply the Proofide on the Brooks saddles?

Rock hard after 2k+ miles; VERY squeaky; needs constant tensioning. And did I say it was insanely squeaky?Not sure I made the right choice tbh. If I could get a gel saddle to suit, the Brooks would be out the window pronto.

Hmmm... Wasn't supposed one of the benefits of proofide is making the saddle waterproof? Why they're "recommending" a rain cover?

My world traveler 2012 version had been rather deep the color , maybe sweated or too many oil ? But does it have someway make the color lighter ? Now the illustration is a little hard to be seen.

Seems odd that their are so few viewers and subscribers to what is supposed to be the world leader in cycling saddles.. Just bought one and want to know if their is a way to tell how long it's been sitting. The tool that came with it looks like an old coin someone left out in the elements. Need to know if I should apply some proofide or not. Not much in the way of United States customer service:-/ Thanks in advance!

Useless.  How do you determine proper tension?  And Brooks' own materials say to Proofide only the underside of the saddle.  Does everything by Brooks have to so insufferably pretentious and impractical?

i never got any wrench with my saddle, nor any mention of tightening any nuts....just tried an adjustable and it doesn't fit(won't clear the leather)

I bought a B33 Brooks saddle for my fat bike , I hope I made the right choice .
How long should I wait untill I use proofind , I see on the video that you use it only on the top. But I've seen other videos where they use it also on the inside .
I'd appreciate your help .
