Meta Quest 3 Review - Should You Buy One?

This is kind of like the hoverboard thing as they get more popular the more companies will start making them but cheaper and then a one point you just have a bomb strapped to your head

I went to best buy and got mines it was worth it i see better feel better and play better but im still getting used to it its a great inprovement from my quest 2 which i had for about 2-3 years and i will keep it beacuse it reminds me of all my great vr experiences!

I could not scan a QR code when I got my quest three, so I had to do it manually probably because I got it as soon as you couldn’t, pre-order it any more and you could buy it

I had a quest 2 and i had to get a replacement because the lenses were off and the corners of objects went blurry but then my replacement had scratches all over the lense so i got rid of it all together but i think im going to give this a go after watching this

For the meta quest 3 in Canada it’s 647$ for the 128gb one

You mentioned you wore your contacts. Have you tried to wear it with your glasses?
My old Rift S I had prescription lens inserts made for it. There was a major concern with them being scratched by the lenses rubbing against each other.

You got your contact lenses in? So these are not usable if you wear glasses. I know that with the Meta2 I have a pretty tight fit with glasses so much so that it puts a crimp on playing time because it gets very uncomfortable as time goes on intends to leave a mark on your face. 😂

I like "Meta Quest", I've been a user for years, I had "Meta Quest 2".
But I just bought the new "Meta Quest 3" for 556 euros and I was very disappointed.
I don't notice any difference in resolution, although they say it's 2k per eye. And I also notice the "screen door effect", they said it's barely noticeable, but that's a lie.
I know what I'm saying, because I still have "Meta Quest 2" and now I have the new "Meta Quest 3" to compare both.
I transferred the VR videos I had to the new "Meta Quest 3", with 6k each and good resolution, as soon as I watched them on "Meta Quest 3" I didn't see any improvement in resolution, and I used the same player "Deo VR ". Furthermore, you can also notice the "screen door effect", you can see the pixels, although it is slightly smaller.
I was very disappointed, if I had known I wouldn't have spent 556 euros.
It's better to wait a few years for "Meta Quest 4".
As for size, this headset is slightly thinner, but there is no less weight when we have it on our head, in fact there seems to be more weight on our forehead with this headset, compared to the old "Meta Quest 2".

I already have quest 2 so should I upgrade it to quest 3 if my only purpose is watching movies and series?

For me the missing part is still the non-gaming applications. We are closer and closer to a visual reality but we dont have anything but silly games, not to mention of that those are still very far away from real. We need VR services, VR contents even if those are not 6-DoF, like visual tours on places you will never see in real life.

VR headsets will never be relevant until you figure out the battery problem. Battery life sucks big D, balls included.

If you do want it...Caveat Emptor......seen this comment somewhere else....."if you buy your Quest 3 from Amazon, and possibly other sellers, you will not be eligible to get the one year warranty that you'd get if you bought the headset directly from Meta--despite it coming from Meta's Amazon store."......ASK BEFORE YOU BUY...

Looks good but I really hate how most games just feel like tech demos. I still just want full games like skyrim fallout and no man's sky.

Maybe when the headset has the power of a entire 4090 devs will finally make full AAA vr titles.
